Therefore, in the unsurpassable vehicle, it is taught that all beings are like illusions, and there is a meaning of illusion that is not shared by the Perfection Vehicle, the lower tantras, and the generation stage. Such is the teaching. The teaching of illusion is as it is said in the Vajra Dakini Tantra: 'Like the reflection in a mirror, dreams, illusions, and bubbles, whoever sees them as similar, is said to be the chief.' These are like the arrangement of the five stages, which indicates that the meaning of those teachings that are not common in other unsurpassable tantras should be understood as explained here. Then, two verses show that the yogi who has attained the illusory body sees all sentient beings as similar to it, as previously explained, that is, seeing their original bodies in that way. The fourth stage of luminosity, which explains the two inner and outer enlightenments, will be explained in the conclusion of chapter fifteen. To briefly explain the two samādhis that are the means of manifesting these two enlightenments, the Five Stages says: 'The disciple who has received the instructions, thereafter practices two yogas, the stage of holding completely, and likewise, the subsequent dissolution. From the head to the feet, until reaching the heart, the yoga correctly enters the end, it is called holding completely. Movement and non-movement, first making luminosity clear, then likewise making it one's own nature, this is the stage of dissolution. The breath of air on the mirror, how it completely dissolves, likewise the yoga correctly reaches the end, repeatedly entering.' Thus it is said. In that, holding completely is gathering downward from one's own head, and gathering upward from the feet, both ends being the heart, that is, until reaching the heart. Having thus gathered into the heart, the yogi correctly enters the end of luminosity. The example of this is shown by the four verses beginning with 'the breath,' just as the breath exhaled on a mirror gathers from all sides to its center, so one's own body, above and below, front and back, and right and left, all gather from all directions to the center of the heart. Dissolution is first gathering the vessel and its contents into luminosity, and then gathering oneself into luminosity.
