Based on the three inclinations of those to be tamed, three practices are divided: for those inclined towards the inferior, the practice of detachment is shown; for those inclined towards the vast, the practice of the grounds and perfections is shown; and for those particularly inclined towards the profound, the practice of desire is shown. The first of these is the path of the Lesser Vehicle, and the latter two are included in the path of the Great Vehicle. Second, explaining the reason for speaking of two doors of division: because there are two types of beings to be tamed, superior and inferior, one who, for the sake of oneself alone, seeks to attain the state of merely pacifying the suffering of samsara; and one who, for the sake of all sentient beings, seeks to attain the state of Buddhahood. These two types of beings to be tamed, by which vehicle do they each go to their respective states, these two vehicles are called the Lesser Vehicle and the Great Vehicle. Based on these two vehicles, the two dharmas spoken of are called the collections of the superior and inferior vehicles. The Lesser Vehicle has two, Hearers and Solitary Realizers, and the paths that lead them to their respective states are divided into two, the Hearer Vehicle and the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, so there are three vehicles. The third is divided into two: the establishment of the Lesser Vehicle and the establishment of the Great Vehicle. First, although there are superior and inferior differences in the faculties and results of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, the establishment of the path is mostly the same, as stated in the "Reality of the Grounds." Detailed differences are omitted due to the abundance of words, so here I will speak of some of the general establishments common to both. Those of these two lineages turn their backs on taking on the burden of benefiting others, so they enter for the sake of their own liberation alone. The main cause for attaining liberation is the wisdom that realizes selflessness, because the main cause for binding to samsara is self-grasping. Therefore, they also realize that meaning and seek that wisdom, and with the help of other paths such as ethics and samadhi, they exhaust all afflictions through meditation. These people do not realize the meaning of emptiness of inherent existence, which is established by its own characteristics from the beginning, but appears as an illusion, but rather they realize the non-self of a substance that exists, which is imputed to a person by outsiders, that is, for the purpose of realizing the selflessness of a person, the Sutra School and the Kashmiri Vaibhashikas

and some Mind-Only and Madhyamaka people explain. The venerable Chandrakirti believes that if this is the case, the clinging to the self of a person will not be reversed at all. For such a person, realizing the selflessness of a person is meaningless, because as long as the clinging to the self of a person exists, the clinging to the self will not be reversed. Just as realizing that aggregates and other dharmas have no self-nature must be established as the meaning of realizing the selflessness of dharmas, realizing that a person has no self-nature must also be established as the meaning of realizing the selflessness of a person. Therefore, as long as one clings to the aggregates as real, one will also generate a real clinging to a person, and as long as this real clinging arises, all afflictions will not be reversed. If it must be thought that the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas cannot be liberated from samsara no matter how hard they try, then thinking like this is also unreasonable. He thought so, and also explained that this is the intention of the noble ones. On this, the views of this teacher and Buddhapalita and Shantideva are the same. Second, merely wanting to attain unsurpassed enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings, and thus studying the six perfections, this is the common meaning of the Mahayana practitioners, because in the tantras, it is also said many times in the tantras that one can reach through this path. However, there are many different characteristics between the two paths. The path of those people is the Mahayana that leads to omniscience. For the Paramita Mahayana practitioners, the common body of the path is limited to this, and if divided from the perspective of view, there are two types: Madhyamaka and Mind-Only. Even so, since there is no explanation that these two have different stages of vehicles, both are one vehicle. Because there is a difference in whether or not one can measure the depth of reality, the former is sharp-witted and the latter is dull-witted. Here, in order to explain for whom the Prajnaparamita vehicle is mainly spoken, the main object to be tamed is the Madhyamaka, and the Mind-Only is the incidental or secondary object to be tamed of that vehicle. If divided from the perspective of speed, this Prajnaparamita vehicle also has five types, namely, definite and indefinite entry, which is said in the Handprint Sutra, like the vehicles of cows and elephants walking two kinds, like the moon and the sun
