As previously stated, one cultivates the body of marks and signs of the Buddhas through form, and the two life-holders gain mastery over the wind, the root of speech, thereby cultivating the speech of all the excellent qualities of the Buddhas; recollection, then, is the cause for cultivating the mind of the Buddhas, since it is the proximate cause of unchanging bliss and since samadhi is the essence of unchanging bliss. Therefore, each of those two sets is also said to be the samadhi of body vajra, speech vajra, and mind vajra, respectively. When learning, the particularly excellent samadhis of the three vajras gather simultaneously, and this comes from having obtained the limbs of samadhi. If the number of six limbs is so definite, then what is the reason for the definite order? The inseparability of bliss and emptiness of the result previously stated must be cultivated with a cause that accords with oneself and what follows, and that is also when one's own mind appears as the desire deity, father and mother, of empty form. From following the mother's desire, one enters the thusness that is empty of grasping and being grasped by one's own mind, and obtaining unchanging bliss is a limb of samadhi that is able to unite the two. As stated in the Upper Commentary on Chakrasamvara: "That which is called samadhi is obtaining some unchanging bliss from following the desire deity, and to that, the Tathagatas say that the mind becoming one-pointed, free from grasping and being grasped, is a limb of samadhi." Thus it is said. Its arising is: It depends on recollection, and at the time of recollection, the bodhicitta melted by the inner heat comes down from the crown of the head to the jewel, and from this, the fourth joy, the coemergent joy, arises from the arising of the four joys, because it is unchanging bliss, it is a limb of samadhi. At that time, the appearance of the unexamined deity of empty form also arises, as stated in the Upper Commentary on Chakrasamvara: "Then, in order to cultivate the image of the deity, the yogi sees the inner heat blazing at the navel center with the power of holding. Being free from all obscurations, like a bird falling, the great seal (Mahamudra) spreads infinite clouds of the Buddha's rays of light, adorned with a circle of light, and it is said to cultivate the limb of recollection." Thus it is said. Recollection of

At that time, in the chapter on methods of accomplishment, it is said: "Whoever embraces the wisdom of emptiness, and whose own mind abides in the innate bliss, that bestows liberation." As it is said, the main method of accomplishment, the Great Seal divided into three through the sense faculties, requires the arising of awareness like a variety of consorts, which are the form of emptiness and non-existence. However, if it cannot increase definite bliss, other methods should also be used. As it is said in the Great Commentary: "If joy does not arise through the door of form, then the sound of the vajra in the lotus, etc., should be done with slow steps." It is said like that. Such recollection arises depending on holding the wind steadily in the central channel with clinging. Through that power, it is necessary to ignite the inner heat and melt the essences. That holding also depends on the prana yoga, the pure wind entering the central channel. If it does not enter there, it cannot be held within it. The entry of the left and right winds into the central channel also depends on purifying the central channel through the sor-sam practice, therefore the order is definite. The meaning of purifying the central channel is that by gathering and accomplishing the eleven signs, and stabilizing them with samadhi, the wind becomes somewhat workable, and the left and right winds begin to enter the central channel spontaneously. From that point on, if one makes the effort to stop the movement of the left and right, it becomes essential. If one does it before that, it will not work, so the first two limbs are the measure of practicing prana yoga. Therefore, if the eleven signs have not arisen, or if they have arisen but are not stable, one must diligently practice the first two limbs. If they have arisen and are stable, that alone completes the power, so from that point on one must practice prana yoga. If one becomes accustomed to just that much again, it is not understanding the distinction. Similarly, if the movement of the left and right winds is stopped and they enter the central channel, and it becomes stable, then the power of prana yoga is completed by that, and from then on one must practice holding, because abiding stably in the central channel is not the result of prana yoga, but must be accomplished by holding. Therefore, when the wind has entered the central channel, and the one who has entered abides there, then through the power of the inner heat yoga of recollection, the inner heat blazes and melts the essences, and if it comes to the tip of the vajra and does not recede, then the innate...
