At the time of complete entry into non-thinking, there is no attachment to desired objects, and no attachment and separation from undesired objects. Thus, there is no attachment and no attachment and separation. Because there are none of these, it is indeed the absence of samsara. Because there is no samsara, one becomes a fully enlightened Buddha. Therefore, to accomplish Buddhahood is the non-thinking wisdom of the Tathagata, and not the samadhi of other conceptualizations. Thus it is said. To this, it is called "said." Who said it? It was said by the Bhagavan. Where? When practicing the non-thinking wisdom of the Tathagata. For what purpose? For the purpose of attaining Buddhahood. From where? From the Prajnaparamita Sutra. Whether one uses existence or non-existence, emptiness or non-emptiness, etc., one is using signs, not using Prajnaparamita. It is only being confused by the words that are spoken. What needs to be considered is: the profound path of attaining Buddhahood is not meditation, because whatever is thought is conceptualization, and conceptualization either enters into the aspect of desire or enters into the aspect of non-desire, thus generating attachment and non-attachment, i.e., hatred, and thus being bound to samsara. Therefore, from not thinking about anything, the conceptualizations that enter into the aspects of desire and non-desire cease, and when that ceases, samsara ceases, and thus one attains enlightenment. Therefore, the path to accomplish Buddhahood is non-thinking, which is not thinking about anything, and not the samadhi of other conceptualizations. Thus the meaning is summarized. Here, the wisdom of the Tathagata is spoken of because it is clearly explained on the path to accomplish Buddhahood, so it is not the stage of fruition, but in order to accomplish the wisdom of the Tathagata, it is named with its name. In the Great Commentary, for prevention and obstruction, two things are said: debate and refutation. In the first of the two, the prevention from reasoning is: It says there: Here, if the wisdom of non-thinking can give the fruit of Buddhahood, then why have all sentient beings not become Buddhas? Because these beings also fully enter into the wisdom of non-thinking in deep sleep, and there is no attachment to desired objects, and no attachment and separation from undesired objects. Thus it is said. Its meaning is: Not thinking about anything

If enlightenment is attained through meditative absorption, then it would also occur when falling into deep sleep, and since samsara has existed from beginningless time, all sentient beings would become Buddhas. In short, if merely resting without grasping at any extreme, without cultivating the meaning of selflessness established by view, is the non-conceptual state that leads to Buddhahood, then it is the same as deep sleep. For merely not grasping at any extreme is also present in deep sleep, while resting in the view is not present in the other. Thinking in this way, the fault is introduced by the key point that not grasping at extremes and realizing freedom from extremes are not the same. Just as Kamalaśīla refuted the Heshang, the former party also asserted this, and refuting it was also done with the non-conceptual state of fainting. Refutation by scripture is: Here, if the Precious Lamp is without thought or clear appearance, how then does it become a samādhi called the Precious Lamp? Likewise, other samādhis also do not become without thought, because they are of the nature of self-awareness and are neither material nor emptiness. Thus, the Mother Sutra itself is cited and refuted. If this text says that the samādhi of one's own system has appearance, so it refutes the non-conceptual state in which no appearance arises, and if the appearance of empty form arises and one does not grasp at anything, even if one has not cultivated the definitive understanding of the view that establishes the meaning of selflessness, one is meditating on the profound meaning, then that is not reasonable, because the former party believes that one must meditate on the non-conceptual state of resting the mind without grasping at anything, and if one rests in that way, then the Great Commentary says that empty forms will appear within a day, and you yourself also admit it, and it is also established by experience. Therefore, the meditation that the former party asserts will also become meditating on the profound meaning. Therefore, the intention of the commentary is not that, the debater has stated very clearly, at the very end of the refutation by scripture: If this statement of the children is, if the wisdom of the Tathagata is self-aware, then how can all phenomena be without inherent existence?
