The wisdom foot practice of non-differentiation is also extremely important, and has been discussed before. These are the extraordinary bonds of the first stage, so by examining them, one can know the boundaries of whether the key points of the first stage are complete or not. Thirdly, if you think: In the first stage, only meditate on the wheel of deities on the appearance side, and emptiness should be mainly meditated on in the second stage, is that enough or not? It should be said that it is very necessary to meditate on emptiness in the first stage, because the first stage is the ripening cause of the tantra of the ultimate means of generating the complete realization of the completion stage, and if you do not meditate on emptiness, you will not be able to accomplish such ripening. In the mantra vehicle, in many tantras, before generating the wheel of deities on the appearance side, recite mantras such as svabhava (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷཱ་བ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभाव, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: svabhāva, literal Chinese meaning: self-nature), and meditate on the ultimate truth of selflessness, which is the meaning of the mantra, so it is said that it must be practiced from the beginning. And in the first stage, all three bodies must be used as the path,

If vows are broken, Jñānaśrī has taught to resolve it by eliminating the two extremes, and the fourteenth root downfall also states: "For phenomena devoid of names and so forth, to conceptualize there is the eleventh [root downfall]." Therefore, doing so is not merely permissible, but failure to do so generates faults. In the first stage, the method of inseparably uniting the appearance of the mandala wheel and the wisdom that realizes the meaning of selflessness, and how this prevents the root of suffering in samsara, the clinging to self, is clear according to the Yeshe Zhap tradition, as stated in the Sadhana Kunjang: "Ultimately, by something other than the stream of conceptual thought, there is no other suffering of samsara. The mind that is contrary to that, will be directly realized. Whatever has a profound and vast nature, there conceptual thought will not appear." This dispels what doubt? In its commentary, it says: Previously, the method of practicing deity yoga was explained in detail. If all these efforts are for the sake of liberation from samsara, then practicing your path of the first stage will not liberate you from samsara, because there is no practice of selflessness. To answer this kind of debate, those treatises explain how the first stage contradicts the root of samsara. Men Zhap also said: "That is because, in order to show it in brief, the inconceivable nature of the mandala wheel mentioned above is said to be the antidote to the suffering of samsara." This is similar to other commentaries of the Yeshe Zhap tradition. Here, the meaning of "ultimate conceptual thought" is: Some Tibetans and Indians explain the appearance that does not manifest the form of the deity as merely self-gratifying conceptual thought, which is definitely not the view of Yeshe Zhap, because in this commentary it says: "Ordinary conceptual thought is conceptualizing self and what belongs to self." And in the commentary on the Four Hundred and Fifty Verses, Shantipa also said: "Here, what is called ordinary conceptual thought refers to the expression of the mind that has the aspect of self and what belongs to self, and what is grasped and the grasper, therefore it is designated as suffering that has the nature of samsara."

It is said that it is the main cause of suffering. It is said that glorious Fruit Vajra, the physician, and Samantabhadra also clearly explained the self-grasping, and it can also be understood according to the occasion. Therefore, self-grasping is the root of the suffering of ordinary conceptual samsara, so it is called the suffering of samsara. The mind that is contrary to this is the mind with the aspect of a mandala wheel, which has been explained by all the commentaries, and the way of contradiction is that the forms are contradictory, and it is necessary for the two ways of grasping to be directly contradictory. That mind with the aspect of a wheel should also be directly realized by the practitioner himself. The reason for this contradiction is that in the Accomplishment Method of Samantabhadra, it is shown by "deep and silent" etc., that is, when the mind with the aspect of a wheel arises, the meaning is that the ordinary conceptualization does not appear. When it arises, because self-grasping is not seen, it cannot be blocked by it, just like practicing the sphere of infinite space, it will also regress. Shantideva said in response: The mind with the aspect of a mandala wheel is because it enters into eliminating all unreal conceptualizations. However, it is not enough to just not appear at the same time. And, the sphere of infinite space, etc., do not enter into the aspect of no-self, because they cannot turn back from self-grasping, therefore the suffering caused by it will not turn back either. Furthermore, the aging and death that continue from life to life here are the truth of suffering. The self-view, etc., caused by it are the truth of the origin. Its antidote, the wheel of the mandala, is the truth of the path. In order to completely eliminate the arising of suffering, the nature of the mind stream is completely transformed, which is the truth of cessation, this is the ultimate truth here. Thus, infinite space, because the mind is not turned towards no-self, practicing it does not harm self-grasping, therefore practicing it does not liberate from samsara. And the mind with the aspect of a wheel, because it blocks the object of grasping as self and enters into no-self, therefore the way in which it can block self-grasping has been well distinguished and declared. The wisdom of realizing self-grasping and no-self
