Because (wisdom) grows very quickly. In general, for beginners, the latter of the two appearances of being unable to practice the generation stage and being able to practice the completion stage is that even if the generation stage is not stable, if one practices, it is not that corresponding qualities are not produced, but for those (qualities) that are produced by maturing the continuum through the first step, they are not produced, so abandoning the first step and thinking that corresponding qualities such as wind and tummo are produced, if one clings to those, one will deviate from the key points of the path, so it is not okay. However, when the first step is not stable, if one takes wind and tummo etc. as secondary practices according to the needs of the situation within the framework of mainly practicing it, then the object to be refuted will appear small. Merely practicing emptiness is common with the Paramita Vehicle, and practicing in conjunction with deity yoga is also present in all three lower tantras, but those do not have the completion stage, so thinking that merely practicing emptiness is practicing the completion stage is extremely undiscriminating. Therefore, it is also very necessary to practice emptiness during the first stage. The boat of wisdom and diligence is weak, and without relying on a skilled helmsman, a spiritual friend, without seeing the ocean of secret mantra teachings, the way of wanting to proceed through a one-sided path, after well preventing it, through the path that pleases the wise, after gradually generating the two stages, in the place of Buddhahood, one must proceed through a path without omissions, thus, the good tradition of the great chariot is made clear. From the stages of the path of the Great Vajradhara, from the key points of revealing all secrets, it is explained that one must achieve enlightenment through the union of the two stages, which is Chapter Eleven. Fourth, there are two ways to study the two stages separately: the way to study the generation stage and the way to study the completion stage. The first has two: the general establishment of the generation stage and the explanation of the stages of realization. The first has three: the way to generate the generation stage as an antidote to what, the classification of the generation stage to be generated, and how to practice emptiness at that time. The first has two: identifying what is to be abandoned and explaining the way to eliminate it, and explaining the way to achieve clarity and abiding. The first is that the uncommon object to be abandoned of the generation stage is:

It is the ordinary appearance of the support and the supported, and the pride of clinging to the ordinary support and the supported. As the fourteenth chapter of 'The Tent' says: 'To destroy the ordinary appearance, one should strongly proclaim the true meditation.' Also, as stated in the 'Compendium of Conduct': 'Furthermore, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases have existed from beginningless time with ordinary pride. Therefore, the nature of all Tathagatas, which is accomplished from minute particles, should be shown as such.' It is said that in order to counteract the aggregates, etc., which have existed from beginningless time with ordinary pride, one should meditate on the aggregates, etc., as Buddhas, as taught in the tantras. Although this is the stage of isolation, the two objects to be abandoned that are unique to it and the generation stage are the same. In order to reverse such appearances and clinging, generating and meditating on the special appearance of the support and the supported is not found in the Paramita Vehicle, so it is a unique characteristic of the Mantra Vehicle. As an antidote to the ordinary appearance and clinging, the generation stage of meditating on the support as the palace and the supported as the deity is taught. Therefore, by familiarizing oneself with the appearance of the support as the palace and the supported as the deity, and by familiarizing oneself with the definitive clinging that thinks, 'It is Akshobhya, it is Vairochana,' etc., one should reverse the ordinary appearance and pride. The transformation from ordinary pride to the pride of the deity is like this: for example, when wisdom is fully attained, one abandons the clinging to what one was before and transforms into the thought of being a deity. Similarly, one transforms the artificial thought of thinking 'It is Akshobhya' and 'It is Vairochana' etc., into the pride of the deity. In this regard, some may generate the unfabricated pride of the deity, but without a clear appearance of the support and the supported; some may have a clear appearance of the support and the supported, but without unfabricated pride; some may have both, and some may have neither, thus there seem to be four possibilities. As stated in the 'Sutra Collection': 'Thus, beginners, having obtained the vows, precepts, and empowerments of entering, are separated from ordinary pride and meditate on the yoga of the deity in four sessions.' Other texts also mention many times the elimination of ordinary pride, therefore, in order to counteract ordinary pride, one should meditate on the pride of the mandala of the support and the supported.
