Ground. Because the mind is distracted by being close to the objects of desire and cannot enter into samadhi, the commitment seal is given. That is the consort with characteristics as explained elsewhere. For those who have particularly great attachment and are not great in the wisdom of realizing suchness, others cannot calm the mind except by that method, so the action seal is taught. There, too, it is practiced by doing it in accordance with it. About this, The Three Modes of the Lamp does not say what the faculties are like and what the action seal is like. Yeshe Drakpa said that for the lowest of the best faculties, the commitment and action seals are optional. Whether or not one actually engages in action or whether one is a consort with characteristics, the intention of the two names is similar. Thus, for disciples who enter mantra, for the best faculties, regarding desire for consorts, there are two options: attachment and non-attachment. For the latter, the practice of Mahamudra is taught. For the former, regarding attachment to external consorts, there are two options: attachment and non-attachment. For the latter, the wisdom seal is practiced. For the former, it is considered that both the commitment seal and the action seal are given. This teacher's view is in accordance with his own system, and it contradicts the view that the main disciples of Anuttarayoga need to have great attachment to the desire for external consorts. The difference in the sharpness of the faculties is: the yogi of the four truths has dull faculties because he does not understand suchness, and the yogi of the Paramitas has middling faculties because he is confused about the method. Those who practice in the door of mantra have sharp faculties because they are not confused about anything. Others do things that would lead to bad migrations, but they practice with skillful means, so they attain a state of complete purity, as taught by the teacher Kṛpīṭaka Kamala. Yeshe Drakpa said: "Whoever does not have manifest joy in practicing the wisdom seal, etc., is not a practitioner of Mahamudra because of weak wisdom." To this, all Omniscient Panchen said: "By the name of Mahamudra, it is definitely shown to be the form of Vajrasattva, etc." Thus, it is said that because the power of wisdom is weak, one cannot practice Mahamudra, and for those who do not like to practice the other three seals, the body of the deity is named Mahamudra and indicated, that is the practice of the Yoga Tantra. Through this, one should also know the Kriya and Charya tantras. With the skillful means of great compassion and the wisdom of realizing the suchness of the selflessness of phenomena,

Furthermore, it is also believed that the perfection of giving is the lifeblood of the two stages of the path. If giving away material possessions such as one's head is considered the perfection of giving, fulfilling the desires of all sentient beings, then it is asserted that the perfection of giving is impossible to complete. Instead, it is taught in the Perfection Vehicle that the perfection of giving involves purifying the defilement of miserliness towards all one's possessions and the clinging to them for oneself, and developing the mind of giving to the ultimate extent. As stated in the *Bodhicharyavatara*: "If merely giving to the poor were the perfection of giving, how could the protectors of the past have achieved it, as the poor are always present in the world? The perfection of giving is said to be the mind of giving away all possessions, along with their fruits, to all beings. Therefore, it is the mind itself." It is said. Furthermore, it seems difficult to explain the difference in ignorance, and it is also difficult to explain the difference in sharp faculties. If it is considered not being ignorant of skillful means, it is repetitive with the previous. If it is considered using desire as the path, then for those to be tamed by mantra, since they do not have extreme aversion, there is no such difference for the main disciples. Also, for those to be tamed who enter mantra, they are first completely guided by the first stage of the order, and then guided by the second stage. When the completion stage is stable, they engage in practice relying on a vidya, and therefore it is said that many attain enlightenment in that lifetime. It also seems difficult to establish that meditating on wisdom mudra and samaya mudra, etc., are considered for those with medium and inferior faculties. Therefore, those with intelligence should investigate those and so on. The reason why Tibetan lamas have many methods is that they have many activities such as pacifying, etc., and explaining that there is no difficulty in using desire as the path is not found in the treatises of this teacher and Yeshe Drakpa (Jñanakirti). There are three parts to the second topic: how many different doors are there for entering mantra; identifying the differences in establishing different doors of entry; and showing how those who possess those differences progress on the path. The first is: As stated in the thirteenth chapter of the *Guhyasamaja Tantra*: "The action tantra is for the inferior, yoga without action is next, the best yoga is the best of beings, the highest yoga is next." As it is said, the disciples of the Vajrayana are four: the inferior and the intermediate after that, the superior and the most superior after that. The four classes of tantra are taught to the four types of people.
