It is said about meditation. There are countless such things mentioned in the tantras. It is also said that the way to generate such a view in the continuum is that it must be generated by relying on scriptural authority and reasoning, and by analyzing with the wisdom of individual examination. In the Bodhicitta Commentary, it says: Bodhisattvas practice the conduct of the secret mantra door, and in this way, with the aspect of conventionality, generate the Bodhicitta with the nature of aspiration, and then generate it with the power of meditating on the ultimate Bodhicitta. Therefore, its nature should be expressed. After saying that, below it, it refutes with reasoning the self of the person accepted by other schools and the self of phenomena accepted by both our own schools, and thus establishes selflessness. In this way, in order to generate it by the power of meditating on the ultimate Bodhicitta, one must first seek the view of selflessness. This is how it is done. In the Guhyasamaja, the six Tathagatas each spoke of the Bodhicitta, among which Vairochana said: "Free from all things, aggregates, elements, and sources, abandoning the grasped and the grasper, the dharma is selfless, with equality, the mind itself is originally unborn, it is the nature of emptiness." It quotes what was said, and explains its meaning, therefore it is called the Bodhicitta Commentary. In this way, the Protector Nagarjuna refuted the two selves well with reasoning, and after generating the view of certainty of selflessness, meditating on the ultimate Bodhicitta, it is said that this is done by the Bodhisattva who practices through the door of secret mantra. Therefore, if someone says that generating a view by analyzing with the wisdom of individual examination is the rule of the Paramita Vehicle, not the rule of mantra, then this is well refuted. The Vajra Heart Ornament Tantra also says: "With the mind, divide the dust into six parts, and after thoroughly separating it into the ten directions, use it to clarify the meaning of the dharmas, the extremely stainless mind is pure. The past and future are the mind, and there is no object of focus in the present either. There is no non-duality in non-duality, and there is no place for space to dwell. After thoroughly examining in this way, all sentient beings are extremely empty. It belongs to the stainless yogi, thinking of one's own mind without things." Thus, the analysis of dividing the dust into ten directions.

Therefore, it is said to meditate on emptiness. Bhavabhadra also, in the 'Wheel of Vajra Dakini,' adorned with Madhyamaka, analyzed particles from ten directions, thereby establishing emptiness. The accomplished Shri Dhara also said, 'All things are not true; they are devoid of beginning, middle, and end. When analyzing this wheel in this way, abandon pure, correct conceptualization. The aggregates and elements are without self; the object of meditation is the form of supreme bliss.' He separated the parts of the three times—beginning, middle, and end—and determined that one should meditate on selflessness. As stated in the 'Garland of Jewels,' 'Just as a moment has an end, so too must the beginning, middle, and end be examined. Therefore, since the three moments are without self, the world does not exist in a moment. The beginning, middle, and end, when contemplated like moments, the beginning, middle, and end are neither from self nor from other.' This is similar to what was said above. This method has been clearly explained by the supreme ones such as Yeshe Zhabs. Thus, Yeshe Zhabs also, in the 'Accomplishment of All Good' and 'Entering the Method of Self-Accomplishment,' established it in mantra as well, with reasoning such as separation from one and many, just as it arises from Madhyamaka. In the three lower tantra classes, it has already been mentioned many times that this method is cultivated in the continuum. Therefore, the Vajrayana practitioner should cultivate the understanding of the view of selflessness in the continuum, just as in the characteristic vehicle. Even if the understanding of the suchness of the view and definitive dharmas is small, it is corrupted by the clinging to self from beginningless time. The object and the subject cannot merge into the same taste like water poured into water; dualistic appearances create a great distance between them. Therefore, when the inner heat melts the bodhicitta and it is held without being emitted, the gross dualistic appearances are gathered and pacified through its power. At that time, remembering the view and maintaining it on the view, that wisdom will draw closer to suchness, and the object and subject will become one taste. Similarly, if the mind does not turn towards selflessness, one will not meditate on selflessness or the meaning of reality; if the mind turns towards selflessness, it will not go beyond the two ways of turning, manifest and hidden. Ordinary beings realize selflessness manifestly.
