When running for the sake of drinking, Obstructed by those holding swords and spears, water is also seen as pus and blood. The mouth is like the eye of a needle, the goiter blocks the throat, and although food and drink are obtained, they cannot be used. What is eaten and drunk burns and chars, excrement and urine stink, cutting one's own flesh to eat. The darkness of ignorance is thick, and the ability of the mind to distinguish between the path and the non-path is lacking. They kill each other, becoming servants of gods and humans, and the suffering of beatings and exploitation descends. The gods are embroiled in glory, and the great fire of jealousy burns, destroying the opportunity for mental ease. Born from strife, the body is cut off and separated, and deceived by flattery, there is no chance to see the truth. Let alone seeing it like this, even hearing it causes fear in the heart and goosebumps on the body. Of hell, hungry ghosts, animals, and non-gods, Falling into the great abyss, The unpleasant sins condemned by the holy ones, Accumulated and will be accumulated from beginningless time. Appearing in the great abyss, pitiful me, The time has come to be saved from the fear of evil destinies. Even in the human realm, wealth and power are freely used, If one appears high, there is doubt of decline, If the merits and wealth of the heavenly realm are lacking, Then one will seek sensual pleasure, hence it is very laborious. Desiring pleasure, one strives for its means, The pleasure obtained is far superior to that, The suffering of the body, the displeasure of the mind, Are tormented in various ways. The beautiful body is adorned with precious jewels, Residing in a beautiful palace and joyful garden, Those who enjoy sensual pleasure for a long time, Even the gods who enjoy the glory of the heavenly realm, When seized by the signs of unwanted death, Ravishing the mind, becoming a thorn in the heart, The beautiful and delightful pleasure garden of the goddesses, Nectar food, fine clothes, beautiful ornaments, The young gods and I quickly, When seeing that they will be separated unwillingly, The pleasure of the body born in that place, The suffering of the mind, which is far superior to that, The sorrow that arises, burns with flames of fire. The deeds well performed in many lifetimes, The fruits achieved through diligence are exhausted by enjoyment. By the power of carelessness, the cause of evil destinies is created, And one will fall again into the place of evil destinies. Desire for desire, no discriminating thoughts of harm, Sleep and mind.

Abandon the practice of longing for pleasure. Be free from the suffering that harms body and mind. Abide in happiness for a long time through the power of samadhi. Even if you attain the state of gods in the form and formless realms, you are not liberated from the bonds of the suffering of conditioning. When the power of past samadhi is exhausted, you will fall back down and cycle continuously. Thus, even the chief of samsara, gods and humans, are subject to suffering such as birth, death, sickness, and old age. When the flood of suffering carries them into the ocean of existence, one should not be attached to the happiness of existence. However, because desire obscures the eye of wisdom, they mistakenly regard suffering as happiness, possessing the wrong view of perversion. I, obscured by this inverted thought, pray that you deliver me from the great river of existence. Sinking into the swamp of desire, I have strayed from the path of liberation. Entering the thick darkness of ignorance, I am deprived of the eye of wisdom. Trapped in the snare of proliferation, I am bound in the prison of samsara. I, tormented by karma, am the object of your compassion. To prevent falling into the abyss of terrifying samsara, relying on immaculate and extensive learning, through the power of pure intelligence that properly investigates, to accurately distinguish the definitive and provisional meanings of the boundless words of the Buddhas, thereby attaining the status of a wise person who does not rely on others, is necessary. What need is there to mention understanding the subtle intentions of the Buddhas? Even for the extremely gross points of what to accept and reject, my eye of wisdom has not become completely clear. Now, if this enemy of great ignorance obscures my heart for a long time, there will be no opportunity for liberation. Please consider this and dispel the darkness of my heart. In the presence of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, regarding cultural knowledge, through the ocean of extensive learning, repeatedly cultivating in countless lifetimes, so that the excellent imprints may awaken, becoming the sole lamp that illuminates the good path for beings, this is what the former holy ones cherished. Therefore, I, a poor person separated from a protector, have become like a traveler who has lost his way. When you embrace me with great compassion, I will respectfully rely on you again and again. Compassionate one, you liberate beings with love. Please come quickly and be my supreme spiritual friend in every lifetime. You constantly and lovingly gaze upon all sentient beings without interruption. In your presence, with a mind delighted by remembering your qualities, even if I come day after day, but
