Vajra and entered into the mandala and bestowed empowerment. He was given the secret name "Donyö Dorje" (Amoghavajra). He fully received the vows and commitments of the Vidyadhara, and cherished and protected them like the apple of his eye. Moreover, when he first came to that Dharma Lord, he saw many people reciting scriptures, and by contemplating in his mind, he was able to recite them effortlessly, without having to be specially taught. Even before he received ordination, around the age of seven, he had memorized many mandala rituals such as Chakrasamvara, Hevajra, Sarvavid, Yamantaka, and so on. He also performed the self-initiation of Chakrasamvara Ghantapada many times, and devoted himself to deity yoga and the stages of recitation, and so on. Thus, even before he was ordained, from a certain time, the form of the Bhagavan Vajrapani Wrathful, with two arms, appeared clearly in his dreams every night for a long time. In particular, Jowo Rinpoche (Atisha) often appeared in his dreams. Later, when he went to U-Tsang (Lhasa and the surrounding area) and saw the statue, he said, "The form is just like that." Later, Jowo (Atisha) himself seemed to come again to restore the declining Buddhism of the Land of Snows (Tibet). By fully possessing the complete stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra, he ripened and liberated the beings to be tamed, and became the crown jewel of those who hold the banner of the imperishable doctrine. This is undoubtedly a sign of his future life. It is said: Faith, diligence, mindfulness, and caution, awareness, Supreme asceticism and immeasurable wisdom, long-time familiar and devoted friends, even in youth did not abandon friendship. When the sprout of the body first appeared, even then, the flower of virtue, possessing the essence of immeasurable and complete fragrance, who would not contemplate such a wonder? This is the first part of the biography of the great Je Tsongkhapa, called "The Entrance of Faith," which describes his youth.

That young man, not just once but habitually awakened by the ingrained habits of a good lineage, even in his childhood understood thus: remaining in a household is being bound by the tight fetters of being preoccupied with various evil deeds, becoming a place of heedlessness, being contrary to tranquility, and being disturbed by food, clothing, household livelihood, and the obvious accumulation of wealth, etc., turning into a fire pit of suffering that is difficult to endure. Ordination is the firm gate that turns away from those and other similar faults. All the Buddhas of the three times also thought that ordination itself was truly accepted. Therefore, thinking thus, at the age of seven, he renounced the household for homelessness, and truly took up the banner of the saffron robe. For this venerable Je Rinpoche, the initial guide and the one who bestowed ordination, etc., the virtuous spiritual friend, was the aforementioned one known as Dharma Lord Dondrup Rinchenpa. If a brief mention is made of some aspects of his biography, his birthplace was the lower Dokham region, he ordained as a youth and went to U-Tsang. He expertly studied all the Prajnaparamita and Maitreya's teachings with Nyetangpa Tashi Senge and others. He went to Narthang Monastery in Tsang. He studied the Pramanavarttika with Dongton Rigpai Senge, the great son of Bhagavan Rikral, the seat holder of Bhagavan himself. At that time, when some difficult debates arose in the field of logic, he went to Shalu Monastery and fervently prayed before the self-arisen Great Compassionate One, circumambulating day and night until his feet bled, and thus supreme intellectual capacity arose, and he became unimpeded in the field of logic, becoming known as the best of debaters. Even though rare favorable conditions arose, he also studied well relying on the asceticism of the Narthangpas. After that, he went to Shalu Monastery for monastic rounds, and even when the precious Buton Tamche Khyenpa was present on the throne, he engaged in debates in the assembly and achieved good results, and also gained the reputation of a scholar. Afterwards, he went to Amdo again and served as the abbot of Shingkun Desar.
