Even if I had to rely on taking essence, I developed a strong determination not to turn back on my commitment to practice. I denigrate beings who have not gained benefit, and speak unpleasant words to those who have gained benefit. How can joy arise for those who are difficult to get along with by nature? These words are a true self-manifestation. Living in a place without attachment, I proclaim everywhere that I live in such and such a cave. My companions also say that this is not appropriate, to which I respond with joy: Father Vajra Master Padmasambhava is one, the pure retinue of disciples, lords and subjects, is two, and the place Red Rock Glorious Chimphu is three. Have you heard the biography of these three complete aspects? Secluded cave is the great fortress of meditation. Retinue is the sustenance of worldly affairs, attachment is the root. My wandering in the mountains is not homelessness, but dwelling in the footsteps of the accomplished masters. The local deity considers me a great accomplished one as one, the earthen castle built with smooth stones as two, and the dwelling adorned with silk ribbons as three. Even a beggar can accomplish these three. Thinking of the impermanence of life, I have occupied the cave. Think of impermanence and death, my Dharma friends! The walls plastered with fine soil are seamless as one, the pillars and beams carved with beautiful wood are strong and durable as two, and the murals painted with colorful paints and wood lacquer are three. Even a beggar can accomplish these three. Thinking of the impermanence of life, I have occupied the cave. Think of impermanence and death, my Dharma friends! The exquisite decorations of the offerings are dazzling as one, the polished copper vessels shine brightly as two, and the rags and bearskin for sewing coarse clothes are three. Even a beggar can accomplish these three. Thinking of the impermanence of life, I have occupied the cave. Think of impermanence and death, my Dharma friends! The recognition and association of the great chieftain is one, the protection, expulsion, killing, and suppression of the Dö is two, and searching everywhere for food is three. Even a beggar can accomplish these three. Thinking of the impermanence of life, I have occupied the cave. Think of impermanence and death, my Dharma friends! Learning the ways of competition, attachment, and hatred

One, lecturing, debating, and composing with a stiff neck of self-righteousness; two, making a fuss for others without any personal benefit; three, if these three things are done, even a monkey could accomplish them, so thinking about the impermanence of life, I have occupied the cave. O fellow practitioners, think about impermanence and death! One, disparaging the results of actions of gods and demons; two, the vile conduct and asceticism of empty talk and extravagance; three, the boisterous dancing of drunkenness and madness. If these three things are done, even a beggar could accomplish them, so thinking about the impermanence of life, I have occupied the cave. O fellow practitioners, think about impermanence and death! Ah Ho! Father Padmasambhava and Garab Dorje Shri Singha, Lord Milarepa and Lotsawa Dakpo, etc., all the Panditas and Siddhas of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, attained accomplishment by occupying caves. I look to them for guidance. Lord Longchenpa and Zurwa Mepo, the three teachers, through the biographies of the four lineages of Dzogchen, stole my heart. Although arrogant and conceited, it is only a hair's breadth. I practice the conduct of a beggar without any regard, because from the depths of my heart I remember the impermanence of life, so in an uncertain place I have erected the victory banner of practice. I have no regret for attachment to samsara. Although ambitious, I can still fulfill my desires. By repeatedly meditating on the Great Perfection, I have realized the key points of the wisdom of the three manifestations. Now I have resolved not to return to samsara, and I will strive to reach the end. The merit accumulated in many past lives has allowed me to encounter the swift path of Vajrayana, and I have realized the view of original purity. Even if I lose the Dharma, I will not be distracted. Even if the talent for lecturing, debating, and composing bursts forth like a spring, I worry that it will increase the winds of karma, so I do not speculate on the words, but rest in the nature of reality. Relying on caves is the tradition of the holy ones, while living in towns is the custom of householders. You ordinary people cannot understand my faults and virtues, so please do not slander my uncertain dwelling. This is my truthful and honest song. In short, when self-important people occupy secluded caves, you leave your homes and occupy caves. When you falsely accuse me of hypocrisy, I, the spontaneously arising, self-liberated yogi, sing a song that awakens sadness.
