第二是,在梵语中出现ākṣara(梵文天城体:अक्षर,梵文罗马拟音:akṣara,汉语字面意思:不灭的),意思是不可改变的,即使地方的差别不同,元音和辅音也不会改变。还有vyañjana(梵文天城体:व्यञ्जन,梵文罗马拟音:vyañjana,汉语字面意思:显现),意思是辅音,因为文字聚集后,能显现所要表达的意义。

From the Tathagata's well-spoken words as a companion for generating in the continuum, up to the point of writing it into a book, it should be regarded as the sound continuum of designation. Moreover, in the Treasury of Knowledge, it is said: Eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma, all those spoken by the Sage, are words or names, and those are all included in form or formations. Secondly, the cause that accomplishes it, which it relies on, is letters. There are three aspects to letters: the nature of letters, the etymology, and the shape or form. Firstly, as the teacher Chandra Gomi said in the Sutra of Letters: Letters arise from place, action, and effort. Thus, when the wind, desiring to express from the mind, stirs, the place and action of its birth meet together, and some sounds of letters arise. In the Commentary on Valid Cognition, it says: Letters arise from the knowledge that motivates, from arising to knowledge, sound arises. Secondly, in Sanskrit, ākṣara (अक्षर, akṣara, immutable) appears, which means immutable, even if the differences in places vary, the vowels and consonants will not change from that. Also, vyañjana (व्यञ्जन, vyañjana, manifestation) means consonant, because after the letters gather, they clarify whatever meaning is to be expressed. Thirdly, in the Extensive Play Sutra, it says: The letters of Brahma, the letters of Aroṣṭa, the letters of the lotus heart (पद्म, padma, lotus; हृदय, hṛdaya, heart), the letters of Anga, the letters of Manga, the letters of the country of Magadha, the auspicious letters, the letters of the fingers, the letters of Shakana, the letters of Yavana, the letters of Bagleva, the letters of Parusha, the letters of walking and flying, the letters of Kirta, the letters of the southerners, the fierce letters, the letters of numbers, the letters of common form, the letters of conformity, the letters of Brusha, the letters of Kasha, the letters of China, the letters of Puna, the letters of Huna, the middle letters, the extensively written letters, the letters of the king, the letters of the gods, the letters of the nagas, the letters of the yakshas, the letters of the gandharvas, the letters of the kinnaras, the letters of the mahoragas, the letters of the asuras, the letters of the garudas, the letters of the deer wheel, and knowing the crow's language.
