From which it arises. The male and female persons of the seducer are the co-emergent and imputed ignorance. The great ocean is the endless ocean of samsara. The boat is the aggregates of the illusory body with outflows, like a bubble. The breaking of the two life encounters is the rapid exhaustion of life day and night, with no possibility of recovery whatsoever. Alas, son of good family! Now, even death is not enough; after death, it is like being thrown naked into the distance, like a stone thrown into a well, that would be enough. All the accumulated black and white karma descends without error, measured as straight as a plumb line, what should I do! Having said this, he again felt fear and great suffering, and prayed single-mindedly to the lama, at a loss as to what to do. At that moment, a ray of light like tangled thread emerged from the lama's heart, extending slenderly, piercing his own heart, and simultaneously with the boat turning upside down, body and mind separated. In the palace of the three kayas of lotus light, he became enlightened, inseparable from the great Orgyen. Like this, thinking that all sentient beings tormented by similar fears are placed in the lineage of causes that I can guide, then release all the discriminations of the three times without support, and place the watchman of mindfulness on each of their respective places. The second mind training is, from the "Son's Book": The thought that all actions appear as the cause of suffering, etc.

Even eating food can trigger illness and become a cause of death. Hoping for benefit, close relationships with relatives and friends turn into aids to enemies. Even without harming others, one is subjected to causeless slander, ridicule, and defamation, which burn the mind. All these phenomena are inherently suffering and are solely the cause of suffering. It is truly regrettable that I have not understood this until now. Now, upon careful reflection, all actions of the past only flash through the mind and cannot be followed, like a dream from last night. Today's perceptions are similar to tonight's dream. The actions of the future will be like a dream of tomorrow night, nothing is permanent. Yet, meaningless clinging leads to attachment, hatred, conflict, pleasant and unpleasant experiences, accumulation, storage, happiness and suffering, and biased behavior. Spending time in this way makes us a collection of faults. All worldly appearances are deceptive and illusory, but I regret regarding them as permanent and unchanging. From now on, I will not indulge in random thoughts and will regard clinging as a fault. I think this from the bottom of my heart. Second, meditating with deception: Again, one arrives at a distant land with no idea where one has come from, a place where people are unfamiliar. Being lost and not knowing where to go, eight young men appear, saying: We come from a place called "Kunzhi (ཀུན་གཞི་,梵文:ālaya,梵文罗马转写:ālaya, meaning: storehouse consciousness) Dark Continent." From here, after many years of travel, there is a place called "Jewel Continent" where there are countless kinds of jewels. We endure hardship to obtain them. Would you also like to do the same?" Hearing this, I changed my mind and set off with them. Sometimes we endured piercing winds, sometimes we crossed dangerous paths filled with ferocious beasts, and sometimes we risked crossing great rivers. We wrapped fortunes around our waists, set a limit on our long lives, and traveled day and night in a state of extreme exhaustion. After who knows how long, life was almost exhausted, and when our hair and beards had turned white, our wish was finally fulfilled, and we obtained jewels from the Jewel Continent.

Having obtained immeasurable and extraordinary benefits, and returning to one's own land with boundless joy, at a place three days' journey away called the Plain of the Four Elements, one encountered seven extremely cruel robber brothers. They stole the jewels that Gawa (དགའ་བ།) had sought, stripped off the clothes from his body, bound all his limbs with strong ropes, and, holding extremely sharp weapons such as arrows, spears, and swords, said in a rude voice, "You evil one, if you have a lama, pray to him; if you have a yidam, implore his compassion; if you have dakinis and dharma protectors, then rally them. If you have none of these, then meditate on the great sound of death. You have reached the boundary between this life and the next!" Hearing these words, my heart sank. Alas! I dedicated my entire life to this, enduring so much hardship, and now not only has it been in vain, but I am also about to lose my precious life. In this desolate wilderness, encountering such executioners, there is no refuge or friend to rely on. All the hardships endured in the past have been of no avail. Life is running out, there is no time left, and death is forcibly approaching. Alas! How terrifying! Alas, alas! Just as I was crying out in such agony, Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) appeared in the sky before me in the form of the Four Mudras Vidyadhara, radiating light and scattering it, driving the barbarians far away. Then he said, "Alas! Miserable sentient beings, you cling to the affairs of samsara, which are like potent poison, as if they were nectar with a hundred flavors. The eight men you did not recognize before are the eight consciousness aggregates, which deceive the wisdom of awareness. The jewels of the precious island are the happiness of this life, like a dream, impossible to ascertain. Enduring various hardships is like accepting suffering, thereby establishing the basis for being deceived. The changing color of hair and beard is like spending one's life in a state of delusion, clinging to suffering as happiness. On the Plain of the Four Elements, being attacked by robbers is like being tormented by the four hundred and four diseases, and ultimately having one's life forcibly taken by the Lord of Death, Yama. Alas! Wretched one like you, no matter how much you cling to worldly affairs, when you face death, it is all the same."
