Strive to prevent evil deeds. May I benefit others like Indra's vase. 17. Some people are outstanding in terms of lineage, appearance, and wealth, with bright wisdom and consummate skills, becoming the object of envy in this world, yet they are troubled by indulging in cities, suffer from craving power, and decline due to stinginess. Even if they possess discipline, it is in vain. They possess the shackles of arrogance, pride, and conceit, embarking on the path condemned by the noble ones. In the ascetic forest, there is no trade or agriculture, no hustle and bustle, and separation from the companions of children. Having recognized the excellence of liberation, their vows cannot be violated by anyone. May I be as steadfast as a royal family adorned with wealth. 18. In the world, bondage, killing, and beating occur. The king's glory declines, and enmities arise with friends. The cause of falling away from the Dharma and suffering in the next life is solely the fault of desire. And desire is interdependent with family, being interconnected. The forest on the edge of the land is the best city of tranquility. Together with fellow practitioners who are happy to invite, even living on lotus roots, like Indra, they are diminishing day by day, eventually heading towards decline. Even in situations where disturbing thoughts arise in the mind, they would not do so for the sake of life, let alone stealing and anger. May I transform like a Brahmin ascetic. 19. With the merits bestowed by those worthy of praise, using the iron hook of fabricated stories, those most excellent wisdoms cannot be satisfied, leading them to that position. A merchant like a wealthy householder, the king's palace, caves and armpits, and the false smile deceived by a jealous wife. Look at the image manifested by this person's merit. The wealth of discipline that cannot be obtained from home, and the fame that one possesses, seeing others as urging oneself, not being devoured by demons, the mind of renunciation cannot be destroyed even by powerful forces. May I be like a merchant of noble lineage. 20. Who is it that makes the beautiful face also wither, the heart also burn like fire, bound by the rope of pain. Gladly entering the great cliffs and the evil paths of downfall, this is the fault of anger. The family is like the fire produced by rubbing wood, the dense forest, possessing lotus stamens, Om

Accompanied by a gathering of drunken revelers, The vow of a virtuous woman, abstaining from misconduct, Living in asceticism, separated from husband and wife, Even though destroyed by the power of a suddenly arriving lord, If no match is found to quell the anger, Who could seek an opportunity to disturb the mind? May I transform like the Jataka of Crown Jewel Bodhi! 21 Even in places where great beings are not at leisure, They do not depart from sweet speech and the demeanor of saints, That splendor and form, Are as beautiful as those who protect the land and the chiefs of tribes. Regarding the extraordinary enjoyment of the wish-fulfilling ocean, Surpassing even the ocean that has pretense as its rival, The king of geese, not afraid of suspicion, His feet entangled by the snare's loop, And the power of the rope bound by love, Are equal in preventing progress all at once, With the shame of a friend's decline, Arising from competition with the conduct of great beings. I earnestly pray to be born as the Jataka of the Goose! 22 Those who gain respect through artificial intelligence, Burn those endowed with virtue with the fire of jealousy. Constantly spreading Dharma as a topic of conversation, Whatever the king frequented in the pleasure garden, By neglecting the service of discord among ministers, In the delightful grove adorned with forest flowers, He also attained the four concentrations and the five supernormal powers. Having previously bestowed benefits on the great being, And then neglecting him is not meaningless, Even the lord who has declined from Dharma, is deceitful, uses hostile tactics, And is corrupted by the view of the perishable aggregate, Is protected by the kindness of not forgetting favors. May I be born as the Jataka of Great Bodhi! 23 Whoever confuses the direction of travel, loses the way, and wanders, In the steep ravine resembling the mouth of the Lord of Death, Stabilizing the one who falls from the treetop, The courage of the Bodhisattva Monkey, This earth, together with the mountain king and the forest, Is either real or Busy with illusory vines to entangle. Those who repay kindness with harm, What need is there to mention shame before the Three Jewels? Even the stone that strikes the best limb, Is made into a messenger to awaken from sleep due to shame. The great being is extremely distressed by the decline of others' virtues, And suffers himself. I earnestly pray to be born as the Jataka of the inseparable Monkey! 24 Whoever is accustomed to illusion with compassion, Preventing his progress is not the match of a foolish person.
