Having abandoned that, they have intentions of harming others through beating, robbing, exposing faults, stealing, and plundering, etc. If one seeks revenge against them, one will become angry and agitated, thereby destroying the virtues accumulated over eons, which is a great harm to oneself. On the other hand, they themselves are afflicted by the demons of afflictions. If they harm others, not to mention the karmic consequences in the future, they will also receive retribution in this life. Because of their ignorance, one should generate compassion towards them and practice patience. Thus, patience is the supreme among ascetic practices, and it is said to surpass both generosity and discipline. Therefore, eating water and pebbles without abandoning desires, and ascetic practices that torment the senses, are of no use other than wasting leisure. Therefore, one should generate great respect for patience, the king of ascetic practices. Similarly, patience in enduring hardship for the sake of Dharma is: Having obtained such a rare leisure and opportunity, at this time when all the causes and conditions for practicing the Dharma are gathered, when one can accomplish whatever profound and vast Dharma one practices, one despises oneself and becomes discouraged by the asceticism and biographies of the superiors, craving sleep, laziness, and busyness, protecting generosity, abandoning discipline, and being defiled by a mind that has destroyed diligence. Even if one does a little virtuous practice, one thinks of standing up as soon as one sits down, one feels sleepy as soon as one stands up, one wants to drink as soon as one eats, one is tired of virtuous practice, and one wants to finish as soon as one starts a session. With such a thought that is faster than reaching the destination, this is not being able to endure hardship for the sake of Dharma. Therefore, one should generate perseverance and diligence and strive to accept suffering. Similarly, for those who are afraid of profound meanings, because they cannot distinguish between definitive and provisional meanings, they understand from the literal words. For those who are afraid of the meaning of emptiness, they cling to all phenomena. One is obscured by one's own ignorance, and one measures the Dharma and people, etc. One should abandon these and be able to bear anything, good or bad. May one be able to cultivate the great patience of the Great Vehicle that endures everything with the mind. Thirteenth, the perfection of diligence.

The aspiration for three (situations) is: May I don the armor of joy in vast virtue, Likewise, may I engage with the intention of practice, With no fear, no distraction, and no sense of contentment, May I strive day and night in virtuous effort. Therefore, one should not be content with just a small amount of virtuous activity, but even for those things that are extremely difficult to do and beyond the scope of the mind. If one is lazy in such matters, there is no doubt that I have destroyed courage in all lifetimes and have increased the habit of relying on laziness. For example, just as a wise captain retrieves jewels from a treasure island, and when the ship is damaged and falls into the sea, he does not give up trying to dry the ocean by scooping water with his left and right hands. I cannot bear even a little Dharma activity, and I am diligent in the wrong path, which is caused by the power of evil deeds. Therefore, I must put on the armor of courage in all aspects that I think I cannot handle. After putting on the armor in this way, one must also practice and intend, not slackening during the day or sleeping at night, and accept it from now on. Laziness is like hail, destroying the crops of virtue; like alcohol, it intoxicates one into a state of complacency. One should strive for virtue as if avoiding a flame on one's head. Even if one strives temporarily in this way, the evil demon will obstruct from various paths, fearing that his territory will be reduced, and therefore one's mind will become discouraged and distracted due to minor causes. Relying on children and sinful friends, one may develop a sense of contentment with virtuous deeds. At that time, transfer the thoughts of dissatisfaction with desires to the aspect of virtuous deeds, and strive diligently. If one does not strive in this way, the other five perfections will also wander without a place to stay, so one should value this, this is my aspiration. Fourteenth, there are three aspirations for the perfection of meditation: May I abide in bliss in this life, May I gradually progress in excellent qualities, May I accomplish the benefit of others through clairvoyance, May I abide equally in the meaning of meditation. Among them, the first verse shows the meditation used by children, such as the four meditations, the four formless absorptions, and the meditations that also exist in the minds of those who have not entered the path.
