Even if it is said that after attaining the path, the main thing is to benefit sentient beings, Having abandoned the small home, protecting the great home, The practitioner protects the religion of the barbarian. If such a statement is placed on one's own side, Because it is very easy to cause conflict, Therefore, establishing oneself on the correct path of the teachings, With the arguments of scripture and reason, After composing the treatise "Treasury of Qualities," The commentary and the two true chariots, Composed nearly a thousand pages. Having seen these, if you gain the courage of refutation and establishment, Please speak out. The representative of the throne of Tsurphu Monastery asked, "How are the views, meditation, conduct, and results of the various Tibetan religious sects?" To this, the Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje replied. Self-nature is natural, unspeakable, unthinkable, and inexpressible is the view. With the experience of clarity and emptiness, many great practitioners are deceived. Self-luminous, unarisen, and unceasing is meditation. I have seen the thorns of conceptual thought disturbing samadhi. If the self-aware wisdom of each individual is not confused, No matter how one acts, one will go on the right path. Said by Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje. The key points of view, meditation, and conduct are easily established. View is immaculate, like the expanse of the sky, Meditation is like the rising rays of the sun, Conduct is related to the timing of the times, To the one who possesses supreme wisdom, I prostrate. When the view is determined by hearing, It is necessary to combine the explanations of scripture and reason. When meditation is determined by experience, It is necessary to distinguish the boundaries between mind and awareness. Conduct is the form of the three kinds of discipline, Combined with the continuous accumulation of the five paths. Now, if one meditates on those meanings, then for those who have little learning like Kusulupa, in order to make it easy for them to understand, If explained in this way: The so-called view is when one lets one's own mind relax and abide, Without judging "this is" and "this is not." It is also not like falling asleep or fainting. Awareness is clear, but self-nature is without essence. In the vastness, not falling into ordinariness. It cannot be expressed in words. It cannot be thought of with the mind. Not contradicting what is said in the commitments of the sects, this is the view. Do not be distracted by it. Do not fabricate. On the basis of recognizing self-nature, without adding fabrications and falsehoods such as "I have recognized," guarding with the continuity of mindfulness, this is called meditation. Conduct is not pursuing good because one likes it, and not rejecting bad because one dislikes it. Self-nature is natural, spontaneous, without acceptance or rejection, although it is like this, but the initial karmic person is completely unable to enter the path, so one does not respect the results of karma. Nor is one attached. Loving-kindness

I, compassion and the other four immeasurables are the unmistaken causes for bodhicitta, so in the post-meditation period, by separating from them, one perfects the accumulation of merit. Conceptual thought is the mind's own expression, so even those that arise are not to be stopped. Afterwards, one does not remember them, does not think about them, and does not examine them. Looking at the source of arising, it is said to be unborn, because it arises from emptiness, so like clouds dissolving in the sky, it goes back to its own place. If one looks back at the place of arising, it follows the five aggregates and the six collections, so the root of delusion cannot be cut off. To summarize, the best meditator accomplishes the meaning of view, meditation, and conduct with just mindfulness. The middling one protects the nature of clarity and emptiness with mindfulness. The lowest or beginners, in the state of "I will not be distracted," that clarity and emptiness is the view. Not forgetting it, that mindfulness is the meditation. Not engaging in artificial and hypocritical actions is the conduct. Recognizing one's own face is the view. If there is no forgetting, it is meditation. Acting in accordance with the Dharma is the conduct. For the benefit of the practitioners at Drigung Til ('bri gung thil), in accordance with their capacity, Dzogchenpa Rangjung Dorje (rang byung rdo rje) wrote this. Instructions on Exhortation. Father is Orgyen Dharma King, and mother is the chief of the dakinis, Lhacham, the two. Son is the accomplished one, the twenty-five lords and subjects. With a hundred gates of faith, I pray. In the beginning of the past kalpa, the four continents, Mount Meru, the heavenly realms, etc., even if they are formed without destruction, in the end, seven fires and one water will destroy them in an instant. The hardship of establishing monasteries in solitary places is not as comfortable as practicing diligently in caves. Those who possess four pillars and eight beams, have they not seen death in empty valleys? One does not know when one will die, just thinking about this, those brave men who plan to stay for a long time, just like leaving their bodies on the mountaintop, the corpse is sent to the cemetery, it is truly sad. Happiness and suffering are determined by karmic results, in this beautiful circumambulation place, those who place their hopes on this, it is truly a mistake on top of a mistake. Having obtained a human body once, if one does not turn one's mind to the Dharma, but chases after the fame of worldly delusions, like a living corpse, it is truly pathetic. Even the best of the non-Buddhist philosophical schools are non-virtuous.
