Written by Rangjung Dorje (3rd Karmapa). The Rules of the Auspicious Tsering Jong. Homage to the master of the teachings, the one who accomplishes all meanings. The rules to be considered by those who enter the practice community of Auspicious Tsering Jong. Since it is necessary to rely only on the organizational form such as "a gathering of monks and a flock of geese," first, if the intention to enter the Dharma is driven by renunciation, it is like placing roasted barley flour in front of a person with a bile disease. It is more like an ugly disguise than fear protection and good wishes, far exceeding the monk in appearance. If this is not the case, one is immersed in hundreds of faults of this life or family, which is meaningless, and always has an unnecessary aversion to everything. It is necessary to have a subdued character and a soft heart like a cotton ball. If this is not the case, one's own superior intentions and actions will be wasted inwardly, and outwardly one will not be able to win the hearts of others, and one will only incur faults by blaming householders. If one's own mind is like a forest of thorns, made bad by jealousy and strife, it will cause fellow practitioners to fight each other. One likes to say hurtful words and blame others, and like a heron waiting for small fish, one is satisfied if one can find the faults of others. This kind of thinking exists in any monastery, large or small, in the degenerate age, and is the root of all faults, so one must strive to cultivate pure perception towards oneself and others. After that, the necessity or meaning of entering the Dharma is: The Vinaya Sutra says, "Do no evil, practice all good, purify your mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas." Therefore, one should respect the discipline that is the basis of all good qualities, keep the vows and samayas pure, increase meditation, and abandon worldly affairs. If one acts contrary to the four root vows, one will become a thief of the Dharma and should leave immediately. After that, for the remaining precepts, such as observing the rules of the Vinaya, there is no fault even if one cannot fully observe them. However, one should be careful in what one adopts and abandons, such as clothing and behavior that harm the image of the Dharma, and drinking alcohol without restraint. All of these are contained in the essential points of mountain Dharma and oral instructions.

It is essential to take it seriously. All of you who have entered here have not merely pretended to be virtuous by closing the door, but have taken a vow to seek liberation and have done so entirely of your own free will. From the appropriate time for autumn alms-gathering until the 25th of the tenth month at the latest, preparing the necessary conditions such as food and clothing is an extremely important special matter. After that, if you must go out due to unavoidable reasons such as illness, you must ask for leave. Otherwise, you should spend your time in the ten practices such as retreat and study, rather than engaging in worldly activities and children's games. In short, those who hold to materialism should cherish this Dharma like their eyes, and should never neglect it due to laziness and trivial matters. These essential rules and regulations, even worldly people strive for things that are mostly painful and meaningless, so it is even more fortunate for us to study the precepts established by the Buddha, therefore, you must regard the rules as your primary responsibility. After that, the giver does not give, and the taker does not take, the fault is the same, so please make pure and honest giving and taking the top priority for everyone. The only suffering of beings, Is the source of all happiness. May the Dharma, gain, and respect, Together with (the Sangha) abide long. The omniscient Dzogchen Tulku Rinpoche has clearly stated that regarding the question of how to practice, the nature of the mind cannot be determined anywhere, and all those who discriminate against the objects of the six consciousnesses have not gone beyond it itself. Since this is the case, The essence of the self-nature is not determined, Its power manifests and is lost as objects and subjects. Everything arises and develops from this, The cause and effect of samsara arise from this. Again, by the ignorance of the same entity as self-grasping, Taking intention as the cause, grasping and the grasped arise. If its self-nature is not liberated and purified, Even the image of meditation requires remembrance. If there is no broad partiality, one becomes a Buddha, If the state of differentiation is lost, one enters the realm of form. If one grasps at universality, then that too enters the realm of appearance.
