That is called the arising of thoughts in meditation. However, at first it is very difficult to distinguish the boundary between distraction and non-distraction, so from the beginning do not take thoughts as the path of practice. Whatever arises, do not pay too much attention to it, do not analyze or think about it, but let awareness remain in its natural state. Once you have gained stability in it, thoughts will arise clearly from the beginning. At that time, the skill of vipassanā will manifest, so do not distinguish between abiding and moving, nor expand it by observing it as before, but maintain a state of relaxed non-attachment. By doing so, you will see the common truth of the union of śamatha and vipassanā, and have shown the summary words of eliminating obstacles and increasing merit. Alas, when death will come is uncertain, like lightning in the sky. Enemies and friends are uncertain, like autumn clouds. Gathering is impermanent, like customers in a market. Do not cling to impermanence as permanence, practice the Dharma. The benefits, fame, food, wealth and enjoyment of this life, Apart from deception, there is not much meaning. For the appearance of desires, like an illusion, Reduce the bondage of clinging to reality and hope. Black and white karma is very powerful, All that will be experienced will fall on one's own head. Therefore, for abandoning evil and doing good, and for taking and rejecting, Examine with mindfulness and awareness, and take the essence. Refuge assembly, the great Orgyen (Padmasambhava) and, The deity of Tibet, Avalokiteśvara, Pray from the depths of your heart. Appearance, sound, and awareness, these three are deities, mantras, and dharmatā. Abandon the clinging to reality that regards the ordinary as commonplace. In the generation stage, recitation, and the tenth-day feast, Steadfastly maintain the boundaries of vows without fail. In the unmade, spontaneously accomplished mandala of one's own body, Because of the manifestation of wisdom, the peaceful and wrathful deities are inseparable, So joyfully offer the feast of food and drink. In this way, the faults of wrong livelihood are eliminated. Good and bad, joy and sorrow, good and evil, death, etc., All are the play of the mind itself. In the great realm of primordial purity, without effort, Transform them into the one, original state, and then abide. The essence of the ocean of tantras, the three yogas, The practice method of its generation stage is contained here. Abandon laziness and procrastination, and persevere. Obtain the aspiration to meet in the lotus light. Now do not stay, go to a solitary place to meditate.

Ho! In the cave freed from the shackles of attachment and aversion, the bindu of indivisible appearance and mind, it is said, there are accomplishments of exhausted intellect and exhausted Dharma. 9. This is the practitioner in the midst of the snowy mountains, the yogi whose stream of consciousness is as pure as the sky, the unattached, free-spirited one who acts as he pleases, again advises on the collection of pure white appearances. 10. This is also advised to the new students as support for the oral instructions for practice. Homage to the Lamas! This life is short, only like today, the appearance of the next life will come soon, like tomorrow. The illusion of the bardo, like tonight's dream. Right now, one should strive in the sacred Dharma. Doing it tomorrow, doing it the day after tomorrow, is wasting life. When entering the Dharma, obstacles will disguise themselves as anything. Apart from the Lama who has firm determination and is good at teaching, no one can help, one should immediately shorten one's thoughts. Whether good or bad, high or low, everything will die, apart from that, there is nothing more important than the Dharma. If death comes by force, regret is useless. Today, one should seek a secluded hermitage in the mountains. Now it has reached the end of the degenerate age, all unwanted sufferings have befallen. Since there is no happiness for all sentient beings, one should strive in the sacred Dharma, the source of lasting happiness. Even if this life is long, it will be spent within a hundred years. Death is not enough to fear, the suffering of the lower realms is even more terrifying. The karmic results accumulated over eons follow closely behind, for that, one should practice the oral instructions that bring benefit - the sacred Dharma. Even if one abandons seven steps in the wilderness of the mountains, the Buddha himself has spoken of its immeasurable benefits. If one strives in practice, then in one lifetime, in one body, one can achieve complete enlightenment, this is the special characteristic of the Secret Mantra. You should ripen the essence, I will give the nectar of the nine profound instructions. If one can establish the auspicious connection of life and practice together, Padmasambhava will show the place to go in the next life. The Second Buddha, the Great Teacher Padmasambhava, is the god of the Tibetan people of the snowy land. If one can supplicate, there is an infallible promise. Open your heart, mind, and chest, and supplicate with devotion. Although I am ignorant, I am a son of a good lineage, seeing the appearances of the world as dreams and illusions. Wandering in secluded mountains is the Dharma, may those who follow me make this leisure and endowment meaningful. Thus, for the old man Wangdu, who walks around the poor vegetable garden with faith in the Dharma, by the yogi Khyentse Öser (མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་འོད་, Light of Wisdom).
