It contradicts the meaning. Why are there so many objects to be grasped? To be bound by the grasper is a great mistake. Like a hook and an elephant, this is a great thief of wisdom. For example, at a crossroads, a bird-maker playing on a tree, if one relies on the object as a support, then the nature of the skill deceives. Like a falling banner, co-emergent ignorance diminishes the memory of one's own nature, and by losing and scattering on the object, power increases, the seed of samsara is constant, and the great demon of conceptualization arises. Therefore, do not look at the place of appearance, but the appearance is without basis or root. In the state of naked awareness of self-liberation, attachment to objects is completely pure, and appearance has never been bound from the beginning. This is called inseparable practice and realization. Thus, in the reply of the omniscient master, the incarnation of the Iron Bridge, the yogi of Longchen Nyamkhai, holding awareness as its own nature, wrote and offered it in the city of Yorpoche. Memory, Longchen Rabjam, is also the mind of all Sugatas. Awareness, immaculate light, I prostrate without separation or union. In general, the minds of all Buddhas are non-conceptual, and the essence of the Sugatas, etc., is established by many Dharma terms. The nature of all of them, at this stage of the path, according to the view of my lama Pema Lekdrol, when requesting supplication through the door of the six perfections of all dharmas in memory, the nature of Samadhi, guarded by knowledge like a spear, is temporarily an antidote to the mind not being distracted, which is the action of the memory of intention. There is no characteristic of memory without intention here. However, this memory is an antidote to the three mundane states of forgetting, scattering, and delusion, which are not predicted, so whether this strong desire for meditation is not forgotten or scattered, except for when falling asleep and not being autonomous. Otherwise, one must also examine the gap between the first and last sips of tea. After that memory of examination arrives, it naturally abides in its own place on the memory, and in addition to that, looking at the ground of the mind with the mind, kneading it, and doing many examinations, may be the established view of some who study and contemplate. Those who abandon meditation are themselves the rope of bondage.

So, does one think that liberation can be achieved effortlessly without doing anything? Ordinary sentient beings, although abiding in the nature of reality itself, wander in the cycle of existence because they do not know how to abide in it. The way of abiding of the mind of a great practitioner is the naturally abiding state of original being, which is shown by a qualified lama as being free from the four extremes of existence and non-existence. It is not mixed with external objects, nor is it contracted inward, nor is it defiled in between by the antidote of meditative clinging. Maintaining the continuity of the mind-essence that is primordially pure in its own nature, in a state of non-mentation, is called the Great Perfection that does not err in its practice. When that becomes the strength of habit, the obscurations of knowledge of meditative clinging are purified, and when one proceeds into the expanse of freedom from elaboration, that unfixated characteristic will arise. Nowadays, most so-called "great meditators" suppress the mind on the eyes, and impose the burden of emptiness on the mind. The three aspects of arising, liberation, and abiding of thoughts, like guarding, acting, and the agent, counting arising and ceasing, is called meditation, but it is not related to the real path. In general, they consider abiding as meditation, and not abiding as delusion. Hoping to grasp clarity as wisdom, and emptiness as the nature of reality, these will cause a famine of meditation. When abiding, they cling to the state of abiding, but do not strive to observe the essence of abiding, and the faults of abiding. When moving, they recognize the nature of moving, but do not follow the traces of moving with analysis. For the neutral state that is none of these, one needs an awareness like melted butter. In general, the first moment that is caught by mindfulness has the wisdom of freedom from elaboration, the self-abiding state, which is worth more than a thousand gold coins. Other things such as comfortable relaxation, bright clarity, empty clarity, and so on, are called putting the package of experiential clinging on the view, which cannot accomplish anything. However, since the beginner has not yet transformed habit into strength, experiential clinging will naturally be greater than the view. Therefore, due to the causes of various external appearances such as the increase of wealth, when the three gross afflictions of anger, attachment, and ignorance arise, there is no other way than to directly recognize it. Therefore, seeing the very face of the affliction itself is called seeing the nature of the affliction. To its nature, cut off the thoughts of speculation and clinging, and at the same time turn the eyes slightly upward as if gazing at the sky, do not look at the thought that arises, but look at the one who arises.
