In short, if you grasp this, you will understand all the key points of appearance-emptiness, clarity-emptiness, and awareness-emptiness. Similarly, regarding devotion, if, like ordinary people, you merely follow devotion that lacks the power of mindfulness, clinging to permanence and constancy, the mind will become distracted, and you will forget the naturally pure mindfulness. If the naturally pure mindfulness is not forgotten, then devotion without an object will become the core of practice, and taking it as the path to practice is the best, it is the special path that generates all good qualities. In all the intervals of practicing like this, mix the lama and your own mind inseparably and abide, this is the way to achieve the supreme fruit of ultimate devotion. Similarly, regarding compassion, there must also be a manifestation of compassion that does not separate from the power of the essence of emptiness. After practicing compassion separately, expanding it with emptiness is a deviation. Refuge, supreme embodiment of all lords, Padmasambhava, lord of the assembly of dakinis, who manifests as a human form to tame beings, I prostrate to the kind root guru. You listen, possessors of pure vision and samaya. In general, in the city of samsara in the three realms, apart from the suffering of karma, the opportunity to enjoy happiness is very rare. Especially for the suffering of the three lower realms, even a glance makes the heart tremble. Therefore, being able to tolerate wasting the leisure and endowment, like the mind of an animal near a fire. There are many such people, so do not continuously, in the city of the Gandharvas where life is uncertain, do not cling to the mind as permanent and constant. Take refuge in the lama and the Three Jewels on the crown of your head, and practice the meaning of what they say to abandon and adopt. If you are indeed a person who desires Dharma from the heart, then like defending against an enemy, be careful and cautious to stay away from distraction and noise, do not rely on food, clothing, and idle talk, do not waste your life in the expectation of "I will do it" plans. The enemy death will come suddenly, take this as the most important thing and remember it in your heart. Let go of the painful struggle of "I will practice," and the abandonment of "I don't need to practice," etc., let go of all mental fabrications. By letting go of these, you will nakedly see the self-nature of the view that transcends the meaning of existence and non-existence. In general, at all times and in all circumstances, if you do not pay attention to awareness, you will not achieve calm abiding.

When will I see your true face? The meditation contrived by the mind, No matter how good its nature, is still a thought. Therefore, you should cultivate diligence In maintaining unwavering continuity of your unaltered mind. In essence, without making any modifications, changes, or embellishments to your own mind, simply resting the mind in the state of recognizing its own nature is all that needs to be done. Even when resting in this way, if it does not remain still and wandering thoughts arise, do not, like ordinary people, chase after, analyze, or contemplate the arising thoughts, thinking, "This is this, that is that," but rather look back at where the arising thought is located. What does it look like? By turning it inside out and examining it, the thought has no source of origin, no place to stay in the present, and no place to go in the end, thus becoming empty in its own nature, without root or basis, and completely dissipating. In short, whatever kind of thought arises, whether it is joy, sorrow, indifference, or neutrality, recognize the arising thought and do not fall into forgetfulness or dullness. Without making any judgments about joy, sorrow, etc., but rather resting in the present moment, you will gain freedom to abide in the present. When the power of insight matures, meditation will progress. At that time, you can consult a lama who has the wisdom of seeing the view, according to your own intelligence and capacity. In general, the boundary between realization and non-realization is like the palm and back of your hand. Recognizing your own nature is called meditation; not recognizing it is called delusion. There is no difference in how thoughts arise for practitioners and ordinary people, but there is a difference in how they deal with thoughts. Ordinary people cling to the thoughts that arise in their minds, thinking, "If I do this, it will work; if I don't do this, it won't work; I should do this for this; if I do that first, then this will come later." They keep these thoughts in their hearts, speak them out, and put them into action, and ultimately, in the state of greed, hatred, and ignorance, delusions arise like a string of beads. These ingrained habits become deeply rooted, and thus they wander endlessly in samsara. But practitioners cut off the root of whatever arises in the present moment, place awareness in a state of neutrality, and present the naked awareness of the present moment without any fabrication, without being tainted by any good or bad. When realization merges into the dharmadhatu, they will reach the state of nirvana. To strive in this way is the world
