The arising of the Buddha is considered to be the 'Tantra'. Again, becoming of the same lineage is excellently shown as the 'basis of discussion'. Holding the Vajra and so on is said to be the 'definitive word'. Actions such as coquetry are said to be the 'cause'. Thus it is said. Therefore, among those four, the general principle that completely encompasses the body of the Vajrayana path is only empowerment. In order to know the meaning of the Tantra, listening, and after knowing, the practice of the generation stage and completion stage, all of these must be preceded by empowerment. If one does not rely on empowerment and vows, one cannot achieve it. The Glorious Guhyagarbha Tantra says: If the teacher is not pleased, and if all empowerments are not obtained, then starting to listen and so on will be fruitless and will be destroyed. Also, Atiyoga says: Without relying on the secret mantra empowerment, how can one achieve it? It is like a listener without hands. Thus it is said. Therefore, no matter how much one studies, contemplates, teaches, or practices on the Vajrayana path, if one has not obtained empowerment beforehand, it is like squeezing lime with a fist and expecting butter, or hoping for a sprout without seeds. The Manifest Enlightenment of the All-Knowing One says: Without empowerment, there is no accomplishment. Squeezing sand will not produce butter. Striking the sky with a fist is the same as drinking mirage water. Thus it is said. Not only will one not obtain accomplishment, but also due to the fault of revealing secrets, sentient beings will go to the great hell. The Kalachakra says: Without empowerment, explaining the Tantra, practicing the profound reality, even if one understands its meaning well, one will fall into hell and there will be no liberation. Also, the Condensed Tantra says: If someone, with the lineage of the Tantra and arrogance, teaches the Dharma without empowerment, the teacher and disciple, immediately after death, even if they obtain accomplishment, will go to hell. Thus it is said. In particular, on the Vajrayana path, meditation and wisdom arise in reliance on empowerment. The Buddha Topknot says: Here, if one is separated from empowerment, one is completely empty of all wisdom. For example, if the strings of a lute are broken, it cannot be played if it is separated from the strings. Similarly, if one is separated from empowerment, the meditation of the mantra holder will not be accomplished. Therefore, the difference between the views of Sutra and Tantra in terms of direct perception and inference is also well determined.

As before the empowerment, one is also brought into the mandala, and even if one is brought in, it is only giving the empowerment of external benefit, even if one is not empowered. Before that, because there is the generation stage of Vajra Yoga, therefore, the reason for contemplating as the sons of the Buddhas, it is said in the Guhyagarbha Tantra: "Head ornament, diadem, garland, etc., armor, victory banner, hand seal, etc., umbrella and vase, food and drink, etc., when the empowerment of the five essences is given, from this time onwards, become the sons of the Buddhas, long life and happiness are all complete, become the master of heaven and liberation." So it is. That is also because it cannot become the basis of vows, so in order to benefit the person who does not possess the Dharma that must be withdrawn from the actual empowerment, one must also be brought into the colored powder mandala, which is stated in the Yoga Samuccaya. The necessity of that is: "Whatever sins have been committed, all these such mandalas, merely seeing them will become purified." So it is. In the Mahamaya it is said: "Seeing and entering, all these are completely liberated from sins." So it is. In the commentary tantra of the Four Seats it is said: "Even those who have committed the five inexpiable sins, merely seeing the colored powder will be liberated. Entering the mandala and empowerment, will be born into a pure lineage." So it is. In the Guhyasamaja Tantra it is said: "If the empowerment is true and endowed with generosity, in life after life one will be empowered. He will, in seven lives, even without practice, be accomplished." So it is. The way to attain the ten bhumis is also said in the Sadhana Section of the Guhyasamaja Tantra: "By empowerment, one will attain the ten bhumis." So it is. That is also, the obscurations of karma of the vase empowerment and the obscurations of afflictions of the secret empowerment, that is, purifying the seen and abandoned. The way to attain the ten bhumis by purifying the abandoned through meditation by dividing the obscurations of knowledge into coarse and subtle by the above two empowerments is the general statement. The special is, just like this, for the common Mahayana, after generating the unsurpassed perfect Bodhicitta, one can obtain the name of the son of the Buddhas, and after seeing the truth, one can obtain the actual practice. Here, from the special way of mantra, as it is said such as "From this time onwards, become the son of the Buddhas," after obtaining the inner empowerment, one can obtain the name called the son of the Buddhas, and after obtaining the actual practice, one can obtain the status called the knowledge holder, it is said in the Guhyagarbha Tantra: Knowing entering
