The decline of strength, and the obscuration of the fifteenth moon by other forces, are similar in their lack of brilliance, which is easily understood through examples. Therefore, it is not contradictory that these four also cause the decline of mind in this life. It is also said in the chapter of 'Light Increase' that, like the four white dharmas, there is no clarity in the next life. If it is said that the four black dharmas are not necessarily directed towards all sentient beings, while the aspiration mind is directed towards all sentient beings, thus there is a difference between abandoning and not abandoning, thinking in this way, just as when a knot is untied, the bundle collapses, the mind generated for the benefit of all sentient beings will collapse. Like this, the ritual of generating the mind for the benefit of the remaining ones after abandoning one, two, or three sentient beings has not been taught by the Buddhas. Therefore, whatever is contrary to the generation of the mind is the cause of the destruction of the mind of enlightenment. In the Compendium of Valid Cognition, it is also said: 'If there is no harm from opposing factors, it will transform into the nature of the mind.' In particular, deceiving those worthy of offerings, and the karmic obscurations of speaking ill out of hatred towards Bodhisattvas, destroy the root of the mind of enlightenment, which we ourselves also agree with. If Dipamkara says: 'In other lives also, these vows as spoken, shall be fully upheld.' If it is said in this way, if one possesses the four dharmas of Light Increase, one will forget the mind of enlightenment. This is aimed at forgetting occurring in this life, or at all times in all other situations. In particular, the word 'also' in 'in other lives also' is not a reason for not relying on this life. What is directly shown is that the antidote to the four black dharmas, the four white dharmas, is so appropriate, that the occasions will be distinguished by scriptural authority. The four white dharmas to be adopted are: The four white dharmas that are great as antidotes are: Even if life is at stake, do not knowingly lie. Treat the princes with the respect and praise of a teacher. Care for all sentient beings with a mind free of deceit. Lead all to the path of enlightenment. It is said in this way. The first white dharma is to not knowingly lie to all sentient beings who can understand, even if life is at stake. Therefore, for a particular object, it will also become an antidote to places that are not for deceiving with lies. Therefore, for others

Third, one should also understand analogy. The second is to generate the perception that all Bodhisattvas are like the teacher, and to speak praises that are true of them. Bodhisattvas are not known by lineage and descent, not known by class and status, not known by body and support, not known by signs and rituals. If there is no way of knowing where the fault of relying on a person will come from, then if one can recognize the signs of an awakened lineage that has become manifest and is worthy of examination, one should show respect to that person. Moreover, since there are also Bodhisattvas among butchers, prostitutes, and animals, one should, as requested by Kashyapa, not inflict harm on all sentient beings and regard the cultivation of pure perception as essential. One should firmly believe that the exhaustion of merit and roots of virtue caused by despising and denigrating Bodhisattvas and friendly Dharma companions is beyond description. The third is to not be separated from the superior intention of benefiting all sentient beings, and therefore one should strive to cultivate it. The superior intention is to act honestly without deceit or pretense. The fourth is to generate great power of intelligence for all sentient beings that one is capable of maturing, to encourage them to generate the initial mind of enlightenment, and to lead them from the depths of their hearts to attain complete enlightenment. As it is said in the "Kashyapa's Questions": "Kashyapa, if one possesses four qualities, one will not forget the mind of enlightenment. What are the four? They are: knowingly not speaking falsely, generating the perception of Bodhisattvas as teachers, abiding in sentient beings with a superior intention free of deceit, and leading all sentient beings to the Great Vehicle." Thus it is. Therefore, these four white dharmas are the essence of merit, and they become the antidote to the four black dharmas that are not merit. Not only in this life, but also in the bardo, one will not forget the mind of enlightenment until one attains enlightenment. As it is said in the same text: "Kashyapa, if a Bodhisattva possesses four qualities, the mind of enlightenment will manifest immediately upon birth in all lives, and one will not forget it in the bardo until one abides in the essence of enlightenment." This is a direct teaching. There are four root downfalls, as stated in the "Twenty Vows": Gaining
