Please do! The good objects of focus that are absorbed into the continuum, depend on the good teacher who teaches. Without relying on excellent methods, the pith instructions will become scattered. The potent vidyā-mantra of excellent renunciation, strikes the demon that has no aversion to samsara. This is an excellent aspiration that possesses four excellences. This is the intent of the Ornament of the Sutras, as it says: Excellent object of focus and excellent teacher, excellent method and excellent renunciation, are the characteristics of an excellent aspiration. As the teacher says: An excellent object of focus is that which, relying on the function of focusing on any dharma, is absorbed into the continuum, and its essence is also desire. By relying on various methods of focusing or desiring, one tames the mind, as the Bhagavan said: By taming the mind, one obtains happiness. That teacher depends on the good teacher and interdependence, therefore the teacher Hero says: If you rely on the holy ones, and are surrounded by friends of mindfulness, you will abide in mindfulness, like a vine clinging to a sal tree, you will be embraced by excellent glory. As it is said. Whatever meaning of manifest desire, without relying on great effort, is easily accomplished, this is the path of pith instructions, however, if there is no limitless order of methods as its companion, the pith instructions will also become scattered. For example, if one does not rely on the methods of the five aspects of conduct such as giving, one will not be able to realize the essence of the pith instructions, the Prajñāpāramitā. As it is also said in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: All these limbs, the Thubpa spoke of as being for the sake of wisdom. As it is said. What becomes the companion of all of that is the excellent mind of renunciation, if there is no renunciation, one will not first turn away from samsara. Thus, because the food of faith diminishes, one will not be lazy towards the virtuous friend in the middle. Finally, because faith and diligence and all the paths decline, the path that does not uproot the root of existence, like cutting off the branches of a tree, cannot be the cause of liberation, therefore, sending a letter to the lama, it says: For example, if a tree is not uprooted from its roots, even if it is cut down, it will only grow again. Similarly, if the root of existence is not uprooted, one will suffer again and again.

Alas, suffering will not reverse! Furthermore, especially those who have taken the vows of ordination, once renunciation arises in their own minds, they become qualified individuals with the Pratimoksha vows. From then on, as the previous Khenpos have said, it is merely a reflection of the vows. The opposite of that good aspiration is: Although entering the Dharma gate, one becomes weary; Hearing, contemplating, and meditating with a poisonous motivation; Wisdom diminishes from the Dharma, and guarding the vows becomes a burden; Cursing with the eight worldly concerns, the Mahayana asceticism becomes hypocritical; This is the defilement that destroys the good aspiration's asceticism. Like this, some individuals, although brought into the Dharma gate by relatives and friends, have not accumulated merit from their past lives, nor have they made good aspirations. As soon as they enter the Dharma gate, they become weary of the Dharma, becoming servants of kings or slaves of ministers and householders, engaging in activities that align with their thoughts and actions. Even if they engage in some hearing and contemplation, they keep only this life in mind, and with a bad motivation, they initially worry about not learning the Dharma well, in the middle they worry about not obtaining gains from it, and finally they cling to jealousy of others, ultimately becoming only a cause for samsara, deviating from the path of liberation. Because wisdom has not entered the Dharma, they have no joy or faith in the Dharma, and the three practices of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, as well as listening and teaching, and guarding the vows, all become too much and a burden. Especially the profound and vast teachings of the Great Vehicle are not accommodated in their minds, and they perceive them as contradictory, or they do not understand whether actions are related to the timing, and they flaunt themselves with the eight worldly concerns that appear to be Dharma, these are like Rahu obscuring the autumn moon, defiling the good aspiration's asceticism. Therefore, abandoning these, Directly against the five great poisons of affliction, Becoming the greatest antidote, Ascending the chariot of the three types of individuals, Without weariness in the four times, All appearances arise as Dharma and Guru, Becoming the cause for omniscience, this is the accomplishment of the good aspiration. Our teacher, considering the three types of minds of beings, taught the Dharma of the three types of individuals, whichever one practices, it becomes the antidote to their respective afflictions, Without clinging to any side, And for practicing their meaning, having the courage to endure difficulties.
