Whether it is certain or uncertain, how could breaking the precepts and abandoning the rules be possible? If such vows are weakened, one will be fiercely burned in the Vajra Hell. So it is said. As it is said in the Abhidharmakosha: Even if not a noble one, offerings to parents, the sick, and those who preach the Dharma, as well as Bodhisattvas in their last existence, are said to be immeasurable. As it is said. As it is recorded in the Jataka tales, in order to repay the kindness of the Yaksha evil-doer who advised King Brahmadatta with verses to turn away from evil deeds, the king vowed to give his body in a quantity equal to the sands of the Ganges River, and without hesitation, he gave away his son and wife. Therefore, without examining from the perspective of faults, think of the kindness of the Dharma, whether it is discipline, extensive learning, great compassion, faith, and generosity, even if one only possesses one of these qualities, one should train the mind solely on contemplating the aspect of virtue. As it is said in the Vajrapani Abhisheka Tantra: Take the virtues of the teacher, never take the faults. Taking the virtues, one attains accomplishment, taking the faults, one does not accomplish. It is like this. Like this, even if the lama possesses virtues, if one examines it from the perspective of even a slight fault, it will become a great obstacle to one's own attainment of accomplishment. In the past, the teacher Buddha Jñanapada requested teachings from Manjushri Mitra, and later when he returned to his own country to teach the Dharma to many followers, he was ashamed to prostrate to the teacher who came in the form of a yogi, so he pretended not to see him. Later, after the followers had left, he went to prostrate. The teacher said: Why didn't you prostrate just now? He lied, saying he didn't see him, and as a result, both of his eyes fell to the ground. Later, he begged for forgiveness and obtained the eyes of wisdom. Similarly, even a little doubt or distrust towards the faults of the lama will obscure both the supreme and common accomplishments, and there are very many reasons for this. Even for those with many faults, one should cut off the habit of examining from the perspective of faults and only examine the aspect of virtues. If that does not convince you, then this holy person must have practiced the conduct of holy beings from previous lives to previous lives and possesses virtues, so now he is connected with us and others as a spiritual friend. Our teacher also, with his body...
