And, acting as a messenger, doing work, doing things for the house, even carrying and placing things, welcoming and sending off things, etc., if one's own body can do it, that is the best. If one cannot do it, since one has already offered one's body, one should establish the concept of not owning oneself, and accomplish things by redeeming oneself with payment, or by paying others to accomplish the fields of knowledge, or things that one cannot do no matter what, one should accomplish oneself, or as it is said in the "Fifty Verses on the Guru": "For what one cannot do, exhort with words," like this, one should carefully consider in one's mind what the circumstances of cause and condition are, and then obtain permission. Such merit is immeasurable. As it is said in the "Ocean of Wisdom": Whoever, for the guru's activity, is a fortunate one with wisdom, for all the Buddhas of the three times, making prostrations for six million kalpas, this is more meaningful. If one acts as the guru instructs, all wishes will be fulfilled, and one will obtain immeasurable merit. Whoever pleases the guru with one's own wealth and possessions, this one will rest in the realm of the emanation body from the three realms of samsara, and go to the place of nirvana. Thus it is. Therefore, relying on these two methods of service or attendance, grasping the guru's intention, and well understanding the profound and vast Dharma, one should ultimately please the guru with offerings of practice alone. As it is said in the "General Sutra": The holy Sugatas of the past, having pleased the excellent guide, went to the end of the solitary hermitage, from oneself, one pleases the excellent one. Thus it is. Here, the latter excellent one refers to the meaning of having attained the wisdom of liberation from bondage. As the former said: Just like a clever child, bound by a chain of bondage, once untied, can easily obtain liberation, like this, one can walk unhindered in anything. The clever root of the mind, bound by the bondage of ignorance, once the holy one opens the door of liberation, the lineage of knowledge is completely liberated, and one walks unhindered. Thus it is said in the sixty-seventh chapter. Showing how to prevent the wrong views that appear to oneself, one should not view any action wrongly. Most of the lords of the holy land are of low caste, base sinful actions, even more degenerate than degeneration. One's own personal experience

When one is not in control, the fault of examining faults is immeasurable. The monk Star Good, who was well-versed in the twelve divisions of scripture, was struck by the power of sin, and after seeing the actions of the teacher being distorted, he deceived himself after careful consideration. Like this, the holy beings who reside on the sacred grounds have no confusion in their minds, so how could there be any fault in their actions? Because it is a time when self-benefit has been accomplished and the benefit of others arises, the actions also show various forms such as peacefulness, fierceness, extreme vastness, attachment, etc., in order to tame beings. Even if a little lack of faith arises in this, the teacher of the path of liberation is only the Lama, and there is no other, so all the interdependent connections of the path will go astray. Like this, at a time when the precious Lama, who is difficult to find in hundreds of thousands of eons, and the profound Dharma of the Great Vehicle are combined, the evil demon will strive to interrupt it by various means. In any case, the ways of creating imperceptible discord between the teacher and student are countless and unimaginable. They make difficulties in all favorable conditions such as food, lodging, and health, and worry about harm when walking, hesitate in their minds, and persuade parents, children, and spouses. Even if they enter the path of Dharma and practice, they will have doubts and wrong views about the Lama and the Dharma, be attached to enjoyment, be self-righteous and arrogant without gaining any special qualities, and prematurely generate altruistic intentions and regard compassion as an enemy, etc., allowing many ways of scattering the mind outward to arise in the consciousness. At that time, recognize these as demons and settle the mind in its natural state. Generate even more respect for the Lama and the Dharma, and wear the armor of courage to endure difficulties. As it says in the Intermediate Mother: Just as a precious jewel is cherished and protected with diligence and great joy because there are many demons, so when seeking the precious jewel of the Perfection of Wisdom, evil demons will strive to create obstacles, striving to ensure that it is not heard. Wherever there will be separation from the virtuous friend, various harms will be created, causing the mind to scatter outward.
