The accumulation of sacred merit and the supreme and excellent source of merit is the holy Guru, who embodies all three jewels. Therefore, the holy Guru is praised with the fourth expression. As it is said in the Buddha Samyoga: "Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the Guru is also the fourth." Moreover, the Guru is the essence of all mandalas, as the great scholar said: "The Guru is the Buddha, the Guru is the Dharma, likewise, the Guru is the Sangha. He is the supreme doer of all. The Guru is the great glorious Heruka." The meaning of this is that the unchanging nature of the Buddha is the Dharmakaya, which possesses all supreme qualities. Without relying on the Guru, it cannot be attained by any other means. Therefore, it is also said in the Sutra Gathering: "Having become Buddhas for hundreds of thousands of kalpas, one should know the Guru to be especially important. Why do all the Buddhas of hundreds of thousands of kalpas attain enlightenment by relying on the Guru?" The Kalachakra Tantra also explains this in accordance with that. Therefore, all the Buddhas of the ten directions pay homage to and praise the holy being who possesses the qualities, as it was said earlier: "To the wise one who possesses meaning, at all times in the three times, all the Sugatas and Victors who dwell in the fields of the ten directions come and pay homage with praise and respect." Similarly, when holy beings are born, pass into nirvana, ascend from one level to another, and display extraordinary deeds, the earth shakes, and rainbows, light, sound, and other phenomena that shake the world and are visible appear. These are signs made and gathered by gods, nagas, yakshas, and others who rejoice in the teachings. As it was said earlier: "Bodhisattvas, gods, and humans, as well as nagas and yakshas, rakshasas and those with wrong views, all the vidyadharas gather and scatter flowers of emanation. Guru, holy spiritual friend, you are the father of us all." And so on, it is extensively taught. With a definitive statement, the Guru is also said to be the supreme of fields, as it was said earlier: "Therefore, having made offerings to a thousand Buddhas for a thousand kalpas, it is not enough to apply one drop of sandalwood to each pore of the Guru's hair, even with a thousand rains." Also, as it is said in the Union Tantra:

Therefore, for the merit of offering to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, offering to one pore of the master is the most supreme. Therefore, offering to the master, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will look upon. So it is said. For example, Ananda, the brother of the Tathagata, when he was born as the son of King Krika, he served the Buddha Kashyapa by anointing him with fragrant oil, which turned his skin golden. And, for the effort of hanging umbrellas on the stupa of the Buddha's relics, he took it upon himself, thereby perfecting the signs of going to be a Chakravartin king. For those who have accumulated many disciples, in the presence of a (false) virtuous friend, the merit of serving the Buddha who is disguised as a virtuous friend is only the cause of going to the Prajnaparamita, and will never be wasted in the Bardo. Therefore, eight pleasing objects should be offered. The General Sutra says: Faith without weariness, gentleness without stinginess, wealth without miserliness, service without hesitation, honest speech without deceit, true character without flattery, wisdom without ignorance, and sincere heart without defilement, these eight (offerings) are completely offered to the holy one. With the ultimate of the holy one's teachings and learning, one is completely understood and liberates one's own continuum, and one can understand all knowable things without obstruction. By untying the knots of one's own continuum, wisdom flies like a bird in the sky. So it is said. First, one should please him with material things, as it says there: The king's power and one's own body, sons and wives and the essence of wealth, the most cherished and pleasing, offer the most supreme wealth to the holy one. Like this, for the lama, even if there is no need or desire for those things, but from the point of view of one's own generosity, if the thought arises that one must offer in order to make the lama happy, then one can obtain the same merit as offering. In the middle, accomplishing happiness with the service of body and speech, it is said in the Bodhisattva Pitaka: In order to obtain meaning in the meaningless body, one should please the lama, even if there is nothing, one should offer a pot of water. And as it is said in the previous tantra: One's own body should also be as much as possible, redeem it with wealth of whatever value. In order to obtain meaning in the meaningless body, (one should) be a servant, lay out a seat,
