and sevenfold houses. In that delightful city, which is completely surrounded, all the foundations are beautifully shaped and true to their names. Decorated with one hundred and one colors, they are soft when pressed, expand when lifted, and are as soft as cotton. There are nine hundred and ninety-nine great gates, all two and a half yojanas in height and half a yojana in width, like a crescent moon, like a cow's hoof, like a mirror, and adorned with various jewels shaped like stars. At each gate, there are five hundred armed guardian deities. The city is surrounded by seven precious walls, and the spaces between the walls, including the moats, are adorned with lakes and swans. In the four corner pavilions on the summit of the mountain king, reside the deities of the Yaksha lineage called Vajrapani. Twenty yojanas from the city called 'Delightful' are four pleasure gardens for the gods. To the east is the garden called 'Various Chariot Garden,' with various precious trees, and four delightful ponds with steps and ladders built of gold, silver, beryl, and crystal, adorned with divine garments, flowers, and many fruits, and the beautiful chariots are made delightful by the goddesses, causing joy. To the south is the garden called 'Rough Transformation Garden.' When the gods go there, they enjoy fighting with the Asuras, and various weapons such as precious armor harder than wood, wheels, and large arrows arise. To the west is the garden called 'Mixed Garden,' where various desired mixtures arise, and precious trees, flowers, and goddesses are also mixed, and enjoyments also roam freely. To the north is the garden called 'Joyful Garden,' with a beautiful pond called 'Joy,' and adorned with trees, flowers, and the joy of goddesses, and enjoyment there increases joy. In that garden, the sleeping couches of the thousand Buddhas of the Good Aeon are in the precious groves, and by the blessing of the rays of light and the merit of the lord of the gods, they can endure being seen. On the side of that garden are recorded the lifetimes, good and bad deeds, and harm to battles of the gods.
