What need is there to elaborate on the great faults of breaking vows! Not knowing the boundaries of transgressions, disrespecting the guru, being accustomed to carelessness, and the power of strong afflictions are the four doors through which downfalls occur. Adding great forgetfulness and unclear memory, these six are the root causes of breaking vows. Therefore, mindfulness and awareness are the best antidotes. When one obtains the opportunity to distinguish between what to adopt and abandon, one should, like guarding one's eyes, diligently and carefully adopt and abandon during the six periods of day and night, and examine them. If vows are damaged, the method of restoration is superior to not restoring them. If the Hearer's precepts are not concealed, they can be restored seven times; if they are concealed, even once cannot be restored, like a broken clay pot. The Bodhisattva vows are like a precious utensil that has been damaged; one relies on external conditions and relies on a virtuous friend to restore them. The Secret Mantra vows are like a precious container that has been overturned; one can restore them through one's own power. If one despises the guru and vajra brothers, one should immediately please them and confess. If one breaks the verbal commitments, one should practice the Vajra Dharma, recite the heart mantra or the Hundred Syllable Mantra a hundred thousand times. If one breaks the mind commitments, one should observe silence for three years and abide in samadhi with one-pointedness; this is the method of restoration. When more than one-sixth of the time has passed, exceeding the boundary of the practice time, it is called transgression, damage, exceeding, and destruction. After a day, a month, a year, or two years, one can still restore them, but the latter is more serious than the former. If more than three years have passed, then it cannot be restored. If one transgresses, one should offer a tsokhor; if one damages, one should compensate with nine possessions; if one exceeds, one should redeem with children, wife, and wealth; if one destroys, one should restore with life. These methods of restoration are explained in detail in the Vajra Sun Treasury. In addition, one can receive the four empowerments again, receive self-entry, practice the generation and completion stages, recite, the unmoving precepts, the yoga of bindus, perform fire pujas, offer tormas, perform expulsion mantras and mudras, bathe and burn with wrathful deities, confess sins in front of the tsokhor or stupa, redeem life, read scriptures, recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra, offer the seven-limb mandala, build stupas, and so on. Especially through intense confession, there is no sin that cannot be purified. For all practices with objects, the mind of repentance is especially important. If one does not confess, the happiness and merits of this life will diminish, and one will fall into the incomparable Vajra Hell. Those who possess vows can attain accomplishment in sixteen lifetimes, or more quickly in this life, at the time of death, or in the bardo. The eight siddhis and the ten inner and outer powers, the eight powers and the four vidyadharas.

The seven branches of union that accomplish any siddhi, the fields of the five bodies, and the two benefits are spontaneously accomplished. From the "Treasury of Precious Qualities, Rain of Joy," the tenth chapter, the gathering of teachings, the treasury of Vidyadharas. || Chapter Eleven The Victorious One's middle turning of the wheel has three liberations, the essence of what is to be taught is each's own self-awareness. In the realm of sentient beings, the essence of the Sugata, naturally abides and is known as the Great Perfection. Wherever the vast and excellent path of the sacred meaning is, all is solely for the sake of clearing away the mind's impurities. The three vows, the six perfections, generation and completion, etc., are all steps on the path of the Great Perfection. Here, the dharmas of samsara and nirvana do not move from the expanse and do not change into something else. Samsara and nirvana are not established, but the dharmata of the ground is complete in essence, nature, and compassion. In that very state, purity is the Buddha, and impurity is the division of sentient beings, samsara, and nirvana. Like dreams that do not move in the state of sleep, there is no moving from where they came to somewhere else. Briefly, the limit of the established way of abiding of the ground is the meaning of primordial purity, spontaneous presence, uncertainty, and certainty. Anything is possible, and anything can be promised. All seven bases of various desires are also each a part of the single essence of primordial purity. Others who hold their own tenets separately, are like seven blind men describing the birth of an elephant, like describing the color of a swan. Here, for the essence that is pure from the beginning, the qualities of spontaneous presence are not one or different. Because it is free from elaboration of entities and characteristics, it is primordially pure. Because it is deeply clear and unobstructed, it is spontaneously present. It is not that one ground is contradictory in substance, like tending towards sleep and knowing during sleep. Because the essence is primordially pure, it does not experience samsara. Spontaneous presence enjoys its power, and anything appears. Just as the self-light of beryl is deeply clear and does not appear because it is not produced by conditions, so too is the radiance of primordial purity, free from entities and characteristics. Spontaneous presence is the body of a vase whose outer boundary is not broken. Because the essence is empty and the radiance is unobstructed, it abides as the basis for the arising of all appearances, but the bodhicitta does not move from the ground and does not appear as something with characteristics and distinctions. That is not a Buddha, nor is it a sentient being. It is not one or different, not an end or a middle. It is not nihilistic emptiness, nor is it a real thing. It is one method with the three aspects of non-arising.
