May you accomplish the activity of averting and transforming all causes of disturbance, the eight and sixteen great fears, (124) curses, effigies, maledictions, hailstorms, and evil omens! Hūṃ! From the lower direction, deities who subdue the earth lords, abiding in ultimate truth, possessing great power, moving in the expanse of space, embracing the consort, not abiding at the extremes, blazing with unobstructed wisdom, the bat-faced one with wings of thieving karma, the time has come to subdue the hordes of demons from the lower direction. Enjoy this offering of blood and flesh to enemies and obstructors! May you avert and transform all causes of disturbance, the eight and sixteen great fears, curses, effigies, maledictions, hailstorms, and evil omens, arising from the confusion of mind and mental events, cause and effect, of us yogis, the patrons and retinue, and from the diseases, demons, losses, and decline that arise, and from the disturbance of the outer and inner elements, enemy spirits. Ja! With the iron hook that subdues appearances through realization, with great compassion, hook the enemies and obstructors from their vital points, with the head of a horned owl possessing the accumulation of merit and wisdom, may you hook the manifest realization in the field! Hūṃ! With the noose possessing the eighteen emptinesses, with great compassion (125) Oṃ, bind the consciousness that leads astray, with the head of a crow that joins the non-conceptual to the meaning, may you bind the host of enemies of attachment and aversion! Ba! With the iron fetters that abandon existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, with great joy, bind the obscurations of knowledge in the sphere, with the head of a goblin bird that sees the nature of reality directly, may you bind the apprehended and the apprehender in the sphere of wisdom! Ho! With the bell that accomplishes the perfection of wisdom, with great equanimity, purify sound and emptiness into the dharmakāya, with the head of a hawk that does not turn back from the path of meditation, may you be intoxicated in the sphere of the unchanging dharmakāya! Enjoy this offering of blood and flesh to enemies and obstructors! May you avert and transform all causes of disturbance, the eight and sixteen great fears, curses, effigies, maledictions, hailstorms, and evil omens, arising from the confusion of mind and mental events, cause and effect, of us yogis, the patrons and retinue, and from the diseases, demons, losses, and decline that arise, and from the disturbance of the outer and inner elements, enemy spirits. Hūṃ! The time has come for the glorious phurba protectors. The iron she-wolf with nine heads runs in the (126) four directions and howls, constantly craving flesh and blood, devouring hundreds of thousands of beings day and night, arriving in an instant wherever it is remembered. Running in all directions, east, west, north, and south, Gandharvas, Yamaraja, dragon kings, and Yakshas with their retinues, sever the thread of sleep. When running in the four directions, above and below, you control the armies of each. The time has come to devour the life force of the enemies who destroy the Dharma and the hordes of spirits who harm all. Fierce and terrifying, kill the phurba, perform the activities of averting curses. Hūṃ! The protector of the great phurba is a three-legged iron dog. It circles the three thousand worlds with swift speed, suppresses everything with the power of wind, and transforms Mount Meru into ashes through miraculous power. Upon such an iron dog, ride an iron dog-face. Bind a yak's head as a crown upon your head. With sharp eyes, gaze upon all three realms. Subjugate the thirty-three gods. Enslave the great kings of the four directions. Enemies who destroy the Dharma and the spirits of gods, dragons, Yakshas, and Gandharvas. (127) Oṃ! You know who is being targeted. The time has come to kill swiftly. Fierce and terrifying, kill the phurba, perform the activities of averting curses. Hūṃ! The protector of the great phurba is a three-legged copper fox. Subjugate the sun and moon. Strike the heart of the rakshasa with your palm. Upon such a copper fox, ride a copper demon-face. Your body is molten copper, sparks flying. The red-black coarse cloak flutters. Running and fainting in all charnel grounds, you are greedy for the flesh and blood of enemies. Kill all untimely spirits. Cast down red poison and spread epidemics. There is nothing you cannot liberate. The time has come for the great liberator. Fierce and terrifying, kill the phurba, perform the activities of averting curses. Hūṃ! The protector of the great phurba is a golden hawk with eight tongues, tongues stretched out in eight directions. With tongues of vajra, jewel, lotus, cross, fire, sword, arrows, spears, and fierce weapons, suppress the hordes of spirits in all directions. Upon such a (128) golden hawk, ride a golden demon-face. Throwing east, south, west, and north, the beings of the three realms cry and groan. The time has come to extract the inner organs of enemies who have broken their vows and committed evil deeds. All four are emanations upon emanations, self-emanations manifesting their own forms. Filling the three thousand worlds, liberate the targeted ones. In your right hand, hold the phurba, and in your left hand, extract the enemy's heart with an iron hook. Surround yourself with dogs and hawks. Cut off the heart veins of all who have broken their vows. Fierce and terrifying, kill the phurba.
