Furthermore, transcending the grasping of the nature of things as they are, the body of the great wisdom of the arising and completion stages united, its form clear yet empty in essence. While the nature of reality is emptiness, the self-nature can even distinguish the black and white of the eyes. Practice this arising stage, which is the indivisibility of clarity and emptiness like a moon in water, free from clinging. For those of middling intellect, first meditate on the complete and perfect form of the body. Then clearly meditate on the form of the head. Once the head is stable, gradually meditate on the right arm, left arm, above the waist, right and left legs, and finally meditate completely on the entire body including the seat. Thus, by learning the arising stage where the form is clear like an illusion, one will not fall into nihilism. By practicing in the pure and stainless awareness, a samadhi as firm as a vajra, one will not fall into eternalism, this is the key. Therefore, for beginners who find it difficult to visualize clearly and who lack wisdom, first practice visualizing a stable form. A skilled craftsman draws a picture of the deity, or makes a lifelike image of clay, etc., and places the blessed object in front of them. Without specifically practicing the "limb of mindfulness that follows," one gazes intently from head to toe without blinking. At first, many conceptual thoughts arise like a spring, presenting a turbulent appearance like a waterfall on a steep cliff. After some time, due to the deepening of the habit of the form, even when the eyes are closed, a clear and bright image will appear in the mind. This is called the "appearance of attainment," like a thief who has stolen wealth hidden in a container, unable to truly recognize the nature of things. Such clear visualization will increase attachment to ordinary appearances, appearing flat like a painting, or bulky like a sculpture, not having substance, but being an empty illusory body free from all gross things such as flesh and bones and internal organs, like a clear crystal vase, or a rainbow, transparent inside and out, bright and radiant, practicing as exemplified by the reflection appearing in a mirror. First, look at the object of visualization for a long time, and shorten the time of meditation. After it becomes slightly clearer, shorten the time of looking and gradually lengthen the time of meditation. The second point is: at that

Furthermore, forgetting the object of focus, laziness, doubting the ability to achieve, agitation, dullness, diligently working while clearly understanding but not knowing when to stop, and not diligently working while not understanding clearly but letting it go, these are the seven common faults. Blurred vision, dimness, like a shadow or darkness, changes in the size of the body, changes in attire, changes in shape, changes in number, changes in posture, only the color appears, only the shape appears, gradually disappearing, incomplete image, these are the twelve faults of change. As antidotes to these, for forgetting, rely on mindfulness; for laziness, generate faith and diligence; for doubt, abide in the dharmadhatu; for dullness, rely on clarity and coolness; for agitation, generate renunciation and belittle one's own view; for diligent work, relax the mind; for non-diligent work, generate diligence. Similarly, for blurred vision, dimness, and shadow-like conditions, cover the eyes with rainbow-like glass, etc., observe the object of focus and analyze the shape, meditate in the mind. For changes in body shape, attire, posture, and shape, visualize the body becoming very large, with wild animals playing on the limbs and hands, pigeons entering and exiting from the nostrils, etc., and especially visualize the peaceful nature having nine postures to transform. As it says in "Fearsome Lightning": "Such a supreme body, each and every one, is endowed with nine postures: soft and slender, entwined and graceful, swaying and charming, youthful in appearance, clear and radiant, majestic and beautiful, blazing with glory, abiding therein." For wrathful deities, visualize them having nine dance postures. As it says in "Important": "Coquettishness and majesty, displeasure and laughter, bravery and terror, compassion and awe, peace are the nine dances, the splendor of the postures." For changes in number, as it says in "Illusionary Guru": "Although the assembly of deities is scattered and numerous, it is the great illusion of the mind." Therefore, remember that the retinue appears from the illusion of the sole principal deity, and thereby practice. For only the color appearing, clearly manifest the shape; for only the shape appearing, transform it into various colors; for gradually disappearing, visualize the face and limbs as very coarse; for incompleteness, especially clearly visualize the incomplete parts. The third is, in the intervals between these, it is called "separating the deity," which means rest.
