Furthermore, it is said in the Compendium Sutra: "Those who wish to attain Buddhahood should not study many teachings, but should study one teaching. What is that? It is great compassion. Whoever possesses great compassion, it is as if all the Buddha's teachings are in the palm of their hand." So it is said. As for us, let alone giving up our lives with compassion, even in each session, those who can generate compassion in their minds are rare. In that case, let alone omniscience, there is not even hope for liberation. Why? Because in the pursuit of liberation and enlightenment, Bodhisattvas, without cherishing their lives, exchange self and others countless times to generate Bodhicitta. This is like when Shakyamuni Buddha himself was born as King Padma in the past. At one time, a severe plague broke out in his territory, and many people died. The king summoned the doctors and asked them what could be done. They said, "If there is the meat of the Rohita fish, it can be cured, otherwise, because we are shrouded in the shadow of disease, we do not know anything." The king bathed on an auspicious morning, put on new clothes, took the Uposatha vows, offered vast offerings to the Three Jewels, and prayed strongly, with a heart of extreme compassion for the sick, wishing that immediately after his death, he would be reborn as the Rohita fish that could reverse the flow of the river. Then he jumped from the roof of the palace. As soon as he jumped, by the power of his aspiration, he was reborn as that fish that could reverse the flow of the river. He said in human language, "I am the Rohita fish, eat my flesh." So everyone took his flesh. When the flesh on one side was exhausted, he turned his body to be cut. In this way, when the flesh on one side was exhausted, the flesh on the other side grew back, and they ate in turn, so all the people were freed from the disease. Then, he said to the people, "For your sake, I have done this." In return for my kindness, please abandon evil and do whatever good you can. They also did as he said. From then on, they did not fall into the lower realms either. So it was said. Therefore, in order to pursue enlightenment, one must practice great compassion, cherishing others more than oneself. Some may think, that is the action of a Buddha, we

Or thinking that they are not capable, they just talk about it and then become lazy. It's not certain. In a previous story, it is said that in a place called "Koka," six monks and a cook were in a wooden boat. After the boat started, it went about a quarter of the way, and the boat builder said, "It's a bit heavy. If anyone knows how to swim, please help out. Otherwise, who among you can row with one hand?" As a result, everyone said they couldn't. The cook said, "Rather than everyone dying together, it's better for me to die alone." After saying that, he jumped into the water. After he jumped, a rainbow immediately appeared, and it rained flowers. It is said that although the king knew, he didn't die because his bodhicitta was very pure. It is said that this person had not done any decent good deeds before, but pure intention, each one can do that, can produce that kind of result, so you should repeatedly observe those, generate the courage to adjust your motivation. If you haven't done this before, then reciting the bodhicitta ritual a hundred times, a thousand times, you won't be able to generate a real bodhicitta. Therefore (110), it completely depends on cultivating the mind with great compassion. If its essence is completely condensed, according to the view of our own tradition: Among them, loving-kindness is the mind without hatred; compassion is the mind without desire; bodhicitta is the mind without ignorance. In this way, they are successively combined with the three pitakas and the three trainings and proclaimed. Therefore, do not reverse compassion. I will use the three doors of body, speech, and mind for virtuous deeds for the benefit of all sentient beings, and I will offer these to the Buddha. Do not leave this happy thought in your mind. For sentient beings as boundless as the sky, restraining the continuum from the side of non-virtue is the training of discipline; developing the good dharma such as samadhi upwards is the training of mind; accomplishing the two benefits and distinguishing what is to be known is the training of wisdom. It can also be explained in sequence as: abandoning evil deeds, accumulating good dharma, and benefiting sentient beings. Use verses to generate bodhicitta. In this way, all mundane bodhicitta can be summarized into two types: aspirational bodhicitta and engaging bodhicitta. The "Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life" says: Bodhicitta, in brief, should be known as having two aspects: aspirational bodhicitta and
