Unestablished. This is the nature of the ultimate truth. Regarding this treatise, in order to avoid the extremes of addition and subtraction, it is named "Words on the Non-Manifestation of Dharmata." How is it avoided? Although the Tathagata does not speak of two, with great compassion and skillful means, according to the faculties, intelligence, inclinations, and circumstances of sentient beings, he tames them with various vehicles and tenets. Ultimately, all of these converge and incline towards the single reality of Suchness. Just as great rivers flow into the ocean. Thus, it is said that they converge and incline. For those who are easily tamed, whose minds are not obscured, who are easily purified, and who possess great accumulations of merit, the instructions on taking the result as the path are taught, and instead of inferring Dharmata, it is directly pointed out in the present moment, which displeases those who are attached to verbal disputes. Therein, benefit and harm, and abandonment and realization, are unestablished, which is the nature of the ultimate truth. Thus, benefit is all virtuous dharmas, and harm is all non-virtuous dharmas. If both are included in the Four Noble Truths and the Path Truth distinguished by right and wrong, then in the Dharmadhatu, both benefit and harm are unreasonable. In the Tantra of True Union, it is said: "His sin and merit, both are imputed, the wise should abandon these." Also, in the Admonition Jewel Garland, it is said: "The actions of sin and merit have passed, possessing the meaning of employing the profound." So it is. If the sin to be abandoned does not bring harm, and the virtue to be adopted does not bring benefit, then wouldn't all sentient beings be liberated without effort? The answer is: The Dharmadhatu is free from all elaboration, and let alone being an object of perception for ordinary beings, even for Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who only see one aspect of the Truth of Cessation, and even for the Noble Ones, it is directly manifested, hence it is said to be "employing the profound meaning." Furthermore, even if benefit and harm of good and bad are not established in the way the Dharmadhatu abides, it is established that the qualities of abandonment and realization must necessarily be present in terms of applying to that state. Because you yourselves also admit that the two obscurations must be abandoned by relying on the Path Truth.

If you say "foolish," that is true. Because knowledge follows consciousness, it does not rely on meaning but relies on words (872), so the four schools are also measured by consciousness. The ultimate truth follows the nature of reality and does not rely on consciousness, so it transcends the realm of verbal concepts and attachments. Therefore, the views established by the combination of object and motivation are subject to the control of consciousness, and are contrary to the aspect of ultimate truth. The Sambhuti Tantra says: "From grasping the non-empty emptiness, subtle discriminations will arise. By completely abandoning, all discriminations arise, therefore these two should be abandoned." This is clear. So, whose realm is the ultimate truth? It is the realm of the Buddha alone, so from the great tantras of the Great Perfection of Naturalness and other instructions, merely speaking of the great words of how the nature abides, fear arises, and thus many acts of abandoning the Dharma are committed, but those people seem to only recite the Heart Sutra, without eliciting the aspect of understanding. From "in emptiness there is no form, no feeling," similarly, "no suffering, no origin, no cessation, no path. No wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment." Thus, if one realizes the emptiness free from the five aggregates, or the awareness beyond the eight consciousnesses, without the obscurations of what is abandoned by seeing and what is abandoned by meditation, as the single nature of reality like the vajra of space, then for it, there is nothing to be abandoned produced by suffering and origin, and nothing to be realized produced by cessation and path, therefore it is said "no wisdom, no attainment, and no non-attainment." Thus, in the Vajrapani Empowerment Tantra it says: "Whatever is the nature of reality, there is no establishment, no consciousness, and no object." And "there is no 'existence,' there is no 'non-existence,' (873) there is no 'merit,' there is no 'non-merit,' there is no 'nirvana,' there is no 'liberation.'" Therefore, for determining the meaning of emptiness through hearing and thinking, there is no better school than the Prasangika Madhyamaka, but for the school that does not accept anything, the nature established by the Vijnanavada with consciousness is free from elaboration.
