In response to the long letter of inquiry from Lama Chen Don Thub Kalsang, written by Khyentse Özer at the Sakya Monastery, may it be virtuous and auspicious! Chapter 11 of the Collection of Discourses. Titled "The Ear Ornament of the Sky Soarer: A Discourse on the Unchanging Nature of Reality." Homage to the Buddha! By the one who has gone beyond all knowable objects, If the true path is abandoned, then the limit of words, Though beautifully named, appears as a doctrine, If it is certain, then remember the unconditioned realm. There are three aspects to this: a general presentation of the establishment of philosophical tenets, an explanation of the distinctions of one's own school of thought, and the refutation of disputes regarding the profound nature of reality. The first is that the philosophical tenets of the non-Buddhists, both those before and (866) those outside the victorious teachings, such as the Purusha, Lambika, and Ant-town sects, who postulate and uphold the philosophical tenets fabricated by the mind of origination, although the scriptures of the non-Buddhists do not have a path to liberation, there are two possibilities of attaining higher realms through the investigation of the liberation Vedas, in the former aspect, abandoning evil and practicing virtue, and relying on the four concentrations of meditative absorption, there is a path to attaining higher realms, therefore, considering the scriptures well investigated by the non-Buddhists, curses are also prohibited. The second aspect, the materialists and others, slander the results of actions, and proclaim harm as dharma, etc., are extremely inferior philosophical tenets. Both of them, on top of having become accustomed and familiar with the root of samsara, the self-grasping, from beginningless time, and still, with the evil philosophical tenets established by many inverted signs and pervasions of consciousness, reversing the opponents to be abandoned, the source of afflictions cannot be cut off, therefore, they do not have a path to liberation. As it is said in the Lankavatara Sutra: "Tainted by the views of non-Buddhists, Covered by the forms of consciousness, They speak of the unspeakable." The philosophical tenets of the inner Buddhist school are virtuous in the beginning, middle, and end, and the path as taught is only a matter of progressing quickly or slowly, but ultimately gradually abandoning the root of samsara, the self of the person, and the subtle aspects of the self of phenomena to which its opponents are attached, therefore, entering the true path of nirvana, therefore, the nature of one's own scriptures can also, attain liberation.

of the path and subsequent explanations, I accept it with the crown of my head, as the sage said. Thus it is. In the second meaning, there are four philosophical schools: the Vaibhashika and Sautrantika, which uphold the (867) tenets of the Hinayana Shravakas. The Chittamatra and Madhyamaka are the holders of the Mahayana Bodhisattva Pitaka. Whichever of the four schools one holds, the first two consider the Buddha's words to be ultimate, and those who diligently practice the thoughts and actions described in their tenets are Hinayanists. The latter two consider the Buddha's words to be ultimate, and those who diligently practice the thoughts and actions described therein are considered Mahayanists. Merely holding the tenets of a particular school does not make one a person of the Great or Small Vehicle. If one is ignorant of all three distinctions and does not generate even a single quality of the path in one's being, what is the point of claiming to belong to a certain religion or school? Such a person is not even as good as a Tirthika, because they lack the discernment of the causes and effects of higher realms and definite goodness. Once one has entered the path, even the lowest person must know the difference between the Great and Small Vehicles. If one does not know this, there is no reason to trust merely in a religious tradition. As it is said in the "Differentiation": Most of the practitioners of today do not practice the three trainings, so they are not the doctrine of the Paramitas. Not possessing empowerment and the two stages, they are not the teachings of the Vajrayana. Not knowing the Vinaya Pitaka, they are not even the doctrine of the Shravakas. Yet they claim to be practitioners, alas, whose teachings will they become? Thus it is said. Therefore, our teacher, being skilled in means, did not from the beginning impose his own doctrine, but emulated those who were well-versed in non-Buddhist systems and whose lineage was not obscured. Through asceticism and meditation, he subdued the views of other schools, but he himself manifested the form of enlightenment through the direct realization of pristine wisdom, which he had practiced since beginningless time. (868) Although he wished to lead all beings to such a state, because beings are attached to the aggregates, he gradually leads them along the path, first teaching about mind and
