Due to being skilled in speculation, thinking that mantra and prajna's view and practice are contradictory, it obscures the self-arisen wisdom. For example, thinking that one has been tainted by transgressions and precepts represented by the four root vows is because one does not believe in the expedient path of mantra and overwhelms the conventional with the view of emptiness. However, in the post-meditation state, not caring at all about actions that harm others becomes the cause of destroying the bodhisattva vows. If one suspects that other actions that should be abandoned or adopted are faults, then it becomes an image of good and evil conceptual thoughts. Until conceptual thoughts cease, karma will follow, so it will not hinder the conventional truth. Therefore, for beginners, it is permissible to confess and take vows without any concealment. During the time of Lama Lhaje Rinpoche, a practitioner felt great remorse for misusing scriptures, and his realization also declined. He consulted the lama, who said, "Rebuild that scripture." He was tired of the distraction of building, thinking it was an obstacle to meditation, and said, "It seems there is no better purification than realizing the nature of mind." The lama said, "Oh, you have understood, it is that." So he stopped building. In the second moment, he did not enter the previous continuum but placed awareness on a completely new basis. Therefore, the vows of the Shravakas are physical vows arising from body and speech, so in emptiness, their form does not exist. Thinking that the vows have been broken is the feeling aggregate, but in the nature of reality, it is not established. Holding onto the truth of guarding and breaking is the perception aggregate, which contradicts self-awareness and substance. Therefore, the actions of the future (842) are the cessation of the approaching formative aggregate. Since the wisdom of self-awareness does not abide in consciousness, guarding and breaking are just pictures in the mind. In short: These beings are virtuous, these beings are immoral. Various kinds of perceptions enter, which is very immoral. The vows have been broken, so there are no completely pure vows. For whom there is no self-grasping, no being-grasping. For perceptions free from desire, where are the vows and non-vows? For these meanings, one should abide in equanimity. This is because the truth of reality has not been seen before. The profound expedient path of mantra has not been mastered. The views of Sutra and Tantra are not contradictory.

All the misdeeds committed during the time of non-realization will be overwhelmed, such as killing Brahmins every day, committing the five inexpiable sins, etc. The ending, "will not be stained by sin," expresses this meaning. This is a statement derived from experience. The authors of treatises debate over words, as stated in the 'Mantra Commentary: Omniscient Chariot.' Furthermore, the unpredicted state refers to all states without mindfulness. As stated in the 'Letter to a Friend': 'When mindfulness is lost, all dharmas are destroyed.' Like this, the three conceptualizations of attachment, hatred, and delusion prevail, abandoning the five accumulations of merit such as generosity, and the two accumulations of wisdom for the future. The boundaries of conceptualizations arising from mind and mental factors cannot be severed. The root of all this is ignorance, therefore, conceptualization is great ignorance, which causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara. Although there are many antidotes for transforming abandonment into the path, like one medicine for a hundred diseases, mindfulness or awareness is key. There are also differences in the way these two are recognized (843). Here, mindfulness refers to the mindfulness of the nature of reality, separate from the five aggregates. Awareness refers to the uncompounded, self-cognizant wisdom of individual self-awareness, not assembled by consciousness. In the 'Compendium Sutra,' it says: 'Forms are not seen, feelings are not seen, perceptions are not seen, thoughts are not seen, in that, consciousness and mind, and intellect are not seen, this is seeing the Dharma, thus declared the Tathagata.' etc. have been taught. Therefore, merely recognizing the self-cognizant wisdom that is inseparable from mindfulness and awareness will cause the unpredicted state to cease on its own, and afflictions such as sleep will have no basis. Therefore, when mindfulness becomes strength, ignorance manifests as light, the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu manifests, etc., which arise from prolonged practice. In short, even a slight understanding of this aspect of emptiness will more strongly destroy the clinging to reality. What need is there to say for those who have already had experience? Therefore, the stubbornness and prejudice of all the schools that previously clung to the liberation of cause and effect will be reduced, and it is natural for the mind to become open and free. Therefore, the myriad activities such as mandalas, etc., emphasize the compounded truth of the path.
