The very deep state of reality does not abide in the extremes of samsara and nirvana, phenomena and existence, existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. It is not produced by any cause or condition, so it naturally arises in the three doors of liberation. It is not defiled by the nature of knowledge or virtuous tenets, nor is it obscured by wrong views. In the naturally pure essence, through hearing, thinking, and meditating, there is no distraction or distractor. Here, three reasons for self-liberation should be established: Primordial liberation does not depend on the adoption or rejection of the views, practices, and results of the lower vehicles, nor does it rely on the hope of when liberation will occur. Self-liberation, the realm of sentient beings, the nature of the Tathagatagarbha, has temporary defilements. Because it is not grasped by the oral instructions of the guru, it is mixed with afflictions, and the state where delusion does not transform into the nature of reality is also profound. Intrinsic liberation, the way of abiding where one's own face has never wandered in samsara from the beginning, abiding on the ground of one's nature, liberation in the state of effortless Great Perfection, is like a garuda spreading its wings from within an egg. Because the three wisdoms are complete in the body, the eggshell falling to the ground and soaring into the sky are simultaneous. This is unattainable for other birds; the example of the garuda is appropriate. Other touches are also unattainable; the example of Great Perfection is appropriate. This is the basis for the warmth and signs of the stages and paths. Thus it is said: The Great Powerful One said, "Sentient beings and Buddhas are not different; how could the path be used to transform them?" Thus it is. The ultimate of this tenet is the special secret of Great Perfection, which is difficult for the discriminating mind to comprehend. It is also a state difficult for those who claim to be practitioners on this path to realize. Why? Because the explicitly stated similar Tathagatagarbha, the Ornament of Dense Array, the Nirvana Sutra, and other later turnings of the wheel of dharma, the meaning of the tantras such as the Sambhuti, Hevajra, Samputa, and Explanatory Tantra Vajramala, are interpreted differently in the Lankavatara Sutra, saying that they were spoken with those in mind. The realm of the Tathagatagarbha, which has temporary defilements in the continuum of sentient beings, and the wisdom of the Tathagatagarbha to be realized, are all destroyers of the Dharma. Those who merely claim to uphold their own system abandon the valid reasoning related to views and scriptures, rely on foolish meditation, and are definitely obscured from the tenets of the all-knowing wisdom of the Victorious Ones.

When it becomes vastness, in ascertaining the wandering place as the nature of reality, there are two kinds of agreement: agreement with the nature of knowledge and agreement with the nature of appearance. Here, it is the first: The subject does not abide in delusion, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. The nature of reality does not abide in nihilistic views, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. It does not abide in both existence and non-existence, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. It does not abide in one and many, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. The basis of sectarianism is exhausted, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. The biases of view and meditation are purified, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. It is separated from all bases of confusion, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. For the continuous great awareness, the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. The knowing of thinking is purified, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. The root of wandering does not exist, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. It is as open as the sky, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. There is no day and night, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. Meditation and non-meditation are purified, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. What is to be known has no inherent existence, so the wandering place becomes the nature of reality. Thus, the wisdom of the exhaustion of the nature of reality is beyond expression, because of awakening without increase, so there is no expectation of the Buddha. Because there is no wandering in samsara, doubts about sentient beings are abandoned. When looking, only one side is seen, what is the use of contemplation? When understanding, it falls into speculation, so the thinking mind does not go to the stages and paths. When realizing, the power increases, awareness abides as it is. Because the result is complete in the cause, there are no faults and virtues. Because the high and low of cause and effect are equal, happiness and suffering are perfected in the nature of reality. The two, arising and ceasing, are not established, so it is the great bindu. After saying this, the monk Monpa, Lato Dharma Lord, Dharma Kirti, Ba Dro Kundrol, Khampa monk, and all the retinues who have grasped the right path rejoiced and praised the Great Perfection teachings. The "Words of Remembrance, Ocean of Qualities" is temporarily completed. Chapter Fifty-Six of the Collection of Talks. "The Essence of Discernment, a Talk Arising from Mindfulness and Awareness." Homage to the Eternal Vajra. Gon Tsetrulku Rinpoche compiled the answers to various questions mainly concerning meditation: Instructions on mindfulness. I must not be distracted.
