Because the other five also do not have the ability to hold their own characteristics. Here, with the mind holding ignorance, at the moment when mindfulness and awareness decline, all virtuous dharmas and the limits of karma will be destroyed. What example shows this? Once, a giant with great strength wrestled with an artist. The giant used all his strength to grab the artist's neck and slam him to the ground. The artist used the illusory wheel of standing up with four limbs, (823) three limbs, two limbs, and one limb in turn, but his strength was even more weakened and it was of no use. In the end, he ran home in shame. His wife asked him what had happened, and he said that he had wrestled with someone today and was defeated. If he wrestled again tomorrow, there would be no other possibility but death. The wife said, "Don't worry, I have a way." The next day, she followed him as before. There, just as the two of them were about to start wrestling, the wife sang, "The giant is strong, but the jewel on his forehead is about to fall off." After singing this, three different kinds of conceptual thoughts arose in the giant's mind, and he became distracted. The artist then grabbed his genitals and was about to kill him. The giant said, "The giant whose mindfulness and awareness have declined was killed by the weak man who used the illusory wheel. There is no enemy more terrible than a distracted mind. I have never seen such a skilled deceiver. The jewel, (Tibetan: འདོད་ཆགས་, Sanskrit Devanagari: राग, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: rāga, Chinese literal meaning: desire) the thought of desire, the thought of anger arising from fear of losing it. One's own treasure is not seen by oneself, and one's mind is occupied with it, this is the thought of ignorance." After saying this, he died. Similarly, when the mind of a meditative yogi wanders outward, the rope of mindfulness is broken, and even if he is proficient in the five sciences, he will be taken by the thieves of the inner path to a city mistaken for an ocean. On the way to the great stone pile Haspora, this body, which has accumulated countless armies, is shown to be like the nature of the king of mountains, thereby deceiving. This shows that without the hearing and thinking that includes the wisdom of meditation, the path cannot be cut off. They are the supreme beings spoken of in the Root Tantra of Manjushri, without conceptual thoughts of their own continuum, because they are especially loving to others, they give instructions. The Dharma of mindfulness is able to completely subdue the afflictions, and it also brings joy in this life. Its merits are very vast (824), and at the beginning of the path of accumulation
