Therefore, generating wisdom from thinking about all the Dharma that has been heard is a prerequisite for meditation. In particular, the nature of those who listen, think, and contemplate lies in debate and refutation. As it is said, "Without relying on terminology, one cannot realize the ultimate truth." Therefore, wanting to experience peace by relying on terminology requires measuring appearances, direct perception, inference, substance-negation, contradictory establishment, refutation, examination, and so on with valid cognition. And through studying nomenclature and scriptures, relying on the wisdom born of thought, clinging to the ultimate truth as the object of sound and concept is like the behavior of a teacher. However, this is the cause for generating the wisdom of discriminating Dharma, so although the nature of listening, thinking, and contemplating does not prevent it, it takes the result as the path. In the stage of Vajrayana, it becomes an obstacle to the special methods of blocking the winds and mind, and is merely its opposing factor (807), so it is difficult to obtain the opportunity to enter the Dharma in the continuum. Thinking about the impermanence of life, the law of cause and effect, the faults of samsara, and the benefits of liberation. Moreover, just as crops will not grow without land, if one relies on a virtuous friend, one will rely on the virtuous friend in terms of both thought and action because one does not know the path and the non-path. Taking this as an example, all the words and meanings of the Dharma should be measured with the wisdom of thought. Ten, meditation: No matter what aspects of Dharma, results, or the nature of actions are listened to, thought about, and contemplated, in order to make the understanding of that thing and its meaning familiar and stable in the continuum, one must meditate on all the summarized meanings from beginning to end, which is the general point. As the Bodhicaryāvatāra says, "I have composed this treatise to tame my mind." This can be taken as an example. In particular, for those who seek high status in this life, the path of the small person is a firm conviction in the infallibility of karma and its results, and without confusing the places of acceptance and rejection of that thing, one must think about it carefully. Related to this, it is also possible to be the cause of obtaining high status in this life. In particular, the steps of the path to liberation, the vows to be abandoned are two hundred and fifty, and the vows to be taken are seventeen. For the former, there are methods to recover from falling into transgression, as well as methods of renunciation, confession, etc., guarding the precepts like a whip.

Based on the foundation of discipline, the path of the intermediate being leads beings to the fruit of liberation by meditating on the path of the Four Noble Truths; the mind that clears away the turbidity of dullness and agitation, with the three doors of liberation, establishes the base, path, and fruit as the higher training of the mind, which is the Sutra Pitaka; discriminating the three natures of what is completely imputed, dependent on others, and perfectly established in a vast and profound way, thus turning away from the precipice of self-grasping and extreme views; revealing the Dharma-nature of the Tathagata-garbha without obscuring it, which is the Abhidhamma Pitaka of the Holy Dharma, relying on these two paths of great beings, contemplating the meaning of leading beings to the state of omniscience. Thus, by training the mind-stream through both the Great and Small Vehicles, on the path of the resultant Great Vehicle Vajrayana, the empowerment of the vase purifies the body and channels; the secret empowerment purifies speech and wind; the wisdom empowerment purifies mind and bindu; the fourth empowerment, which purifies the alaya and cognitive obscurations, is the maturing empowerment, and relying on the respective vows, one meditates on the stages of traversing the bhumis and paths; similarly, the vase empowerment is the generation stage of practicing the clinging to external and internal containers and contents; similarly, from the three higher empowerments, the first two are the completion stage with focus, and the latter is the completion stage without focus, relying on the profound path of purifying one's own self-grasping, thus one is able to instantly approach the state of Vajradhara. For just these common meanings and hidden meanings, my discriminating mind is obscured, therefore, remembering the qualities of the Three Jewels, contemplating the field of merit, taking refuge, the main points of the Mahayana path are the four immeasurables, the two aspects of aspiration and engagement, taking and sending happiness and suffering, exchanging self and others, the six perfections, the two aspects of calm abiding and insight, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, and so on, in short, the essence of all hearing and thinking is summarized as the nature of the wisdom of meditation, which is accompanied by investigation and analysis in the preliminary stage, and enters into non-conceptualization in the main practice, therefore the minds of the four dhyanas and four formless absorptions are also present in the mind-stream that has entered the path, therefore it is called the meditation of childish play. Taking that as a basis, on the path of accumulation and the path of preparation, the path of liberation is manifested by the meditation that distinguishes the meaning.
