When I looked from the mountain, I saw a large horse in front of him, so it is very important to have a completely pure mind. Reading the scriptures with a pure mind benefits both oneself and others. Sins are purified and strength is increased. Misfortunes and obstacles are pacified. The gods of difficult places rejoice. Even non-humans are liberated by hearing it. One's own wisdom can also grasp much knowledge. Renunciation arises towards samsara. Faith arises in the Three Jewels. It becomes the cause for relying on a virtuous spiritual friend and entering the path of Dharma. The harm of diseases, evil spirits, fire, water, and wild animals are pacified, and so on, there are countless benefits. Sixth, holding is the nature of the non-forgetting dharani. It does not depend on the collection and arrangement of books, the control of the senses, day and night, or the difference between walking and dwelling. By the power of wisdom, from the generation of the wind (energy) of expression, one can recite without obstruction, so even when separated from books, one will not become depleted of virtue. In particular, the wind (energy) in the words of expression merges with the mind, so blessings are infused into it. The meaning of what is expressed is also easy to understand. Having fully understood it, one obtains the way to acquire the non-forgetting dharani. (801) At the time of the first council, the scriptures were not recorded in written form. But when the Arhats compiled the three pitakas, they began to speak by saying, "Thus have I heard, at one time..." This is because both the words and the meaning have entered the mind. This is the realm of those who have pursued special abandonment and realization. Even if only the words enter the mind, it can bring special understanding and experience to one's continuum. Therefore, being able to fluently recite and hold it day and night, or to understand it in the mind, has immeasurable benefits. Seventh, offering is: accumulating the path of virtuous deeds and the seeds of liberation in the continuum of others. For oneself, it also becomes a posadha that is elevated by the nobility of discipline. That is to say, the wise ones who know the three pitakas, in the Commentary on Reasoning, say: To those who wish to speak of the meaning of the sutras, give a little instruction. This instruction is: one should speak including the meaning that summarizes the necessity, including refutations and answers, including connections, and including words and meaning. Like this, the Dharma that is being taught

Spreading out the main text, summarizing the essentials into key points, using refutation to eliminate wrong views, and using connection to link related points. These are established through the three analyses of words and meanings. Among these, there are definitive and provisional meanings, interpretable and non-interpretable meanings, which are the four modes of the Sutras. In the Mantras, adding sound as it is and not as it is, there are six limits to measure and explain well. If, in such explanations, one clings to the sides of the Greater or Lesser Vehicle, or the Sutra or Mantra systems respectively, or keeps in mind one's own desired views and tenets, and becomes afraid of the profound words and meanings of the Dharma, then speaking dogmatically in refutation and affirmation is an unbearable fault of hating the Dharma. (802) Parents, Arhats, killing the Sangha, dividing the Sangha. Even so, if one is certain of the nature of Dharma, one can be liberated. If someone does not abide by the Dharma, how can there be liberation? Reflecting like this, one should also remember the faults of the sixth root downfall. Why? Because the wisdom of thoroughly distinguishing the Dharma transcends Samsara and Nirvana, and is the sphere of activity of the ninth, excellent wisdom. The tolerance of logical analysis follows the knowable and the knower. Therefore, the two aspects of Bodhicitta contradict the root of motivation, so great beings who possess such qualities, the treatises that elaborate on the literal meaning of direct teachings, are not defiled by attachment and possess the qualities of correction and protection, and are closely connected to the path of attaining liberation. Like treating an upright person, one should respectfully accept it on one's head. Like this, one should hold the Dharma as the very lifeline. Those who explain minor instructions should also do so. Whatever Dharma is to be explained, one must first hear it oneself and become well-versed in it, and even with the pure wisdom arising from thought, one must teach others without confusing the meaning of the words. This is absolutely essential. If one does not have the ability to teach in this way, it is like drawing water from a pond into a fox's den. In particular, if one neglects the effort to plant roots of virtue in the minds of others with the Dharma being taught, and only diligently cleans one's own residence and throne, carefully attends to ornate clothing, and treats the Dharma like lightning, or merely transmits it as information to others, then for the minds of the disciples,
