Since peaceful awareness is the teaching of sudden enlightenment, the characteristics of Dzogchen do not reside in words. Having kept it in mind, abiding in the expanse of Rigpa Vajra Chain, realization of Rigpa reaching its limit arises in the lineage, and thus it is said: Alala Ho! From the miraculous display of self-arisen Rigpa, the distinction between samsara and nirvana vanishes. On the boundary between awareness and non-awareness, abandoning and adopting both abide in stillness. You, the flower of kindness, although you are my guru, your mind is blended with my Rigpa. Now, to whom shall I pray? Remaining uncorrected and natural, although it is the intention of the Buddhas, the demon of hope and fear, and conceptual thoughts, has exhausted the thought of meditation. Since Buddha is one's own mind, calculating the bhumis and paths has slowed it down. By staying in one's own place, one has seized the entire mandala. Now, from where can one experience the bliss of appearances and experiences? By purifying the karmic winds in the central channel, the distinction between equanimity and subsequent attainment vanishes. By abiding in manifest awareness, progressive experiences are seen nakedly. The bonds of the Sambhogakaya are severed on the path, and one abides in meditation that has reached its limit. For awareness that is beyond thought and expression, where can habits and grasping exist? By blending appearances and mind without distinction, without abandoning dualistic grasping, it vanishes in the view. Pity those who cling to me, sentient beings in samsara, pitiful beings. (789) May they tread the original bhumis and paths. For sentient beings with karmic connections, and for pitiful beings in the bardo, why does my Rigpa not merge? Since karma has neither good nor bad, everything is sent into the Dharmadhatu. The united form of Avadhuti, like Padmasambhava and Vimalamitra, or merging into the realm of exhausted phenomena, even after the coarse body dissolves into a rainbow body, merges into the realm of primordial purity, free from effort. Awareness merges into the four awarenesses and departs. Until samsara is exhausted, it benefits beings with spontaneous abilities. This is the last testament. For a yogi who has exhausted words, even talking is like a waste. Ema, how wonderful, Alala! I, awareness that transcends the ground, in the original ground of the Dharmadhatu, Vajra Mu (Tibetan: བཛྲ་མུ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र मु, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: vajra mu, Chinese literal meaning: Diamond Mu), uproots samsara from its foundation. Mama Koling Samanta (Tibetan: མ་མ་ཀོ་ལིང་ས་མནྟ, Sanskrit Devanagari: मम कोलिं समन्त, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: mama koliṃ samanta, Chinese literal meaning: Mama Koling Universal) Having said this, in a moment, that buzzing bee attained the body of the Great Transference and vanished like a rainbow. Chapter Fifty-Four of the Collection of Talks. The talk on the Ten Practices, called "The Auspicious Tree." For the noble one who dispels all obscurations.

Homage! Those who have obtained the support of a human body should strive for the ten practices that awaken one from the sleep of laziness, as it is said: Writing, offering, and giving; listening, reading, and holding; explaining and reciting; thinking and meditating. The nature of these ten practices is an immeasurable accumulation of merit. Therefore, having obtained this human body once, one should not waste it but should strive in the activities of the ten practices. Among them, the first is writing, as it is also said in the Vinaya Sutra: First, learn to write, and then become proficient in the eight examinations. As it is said, from the moment one obtains the support of a human body, the first thing to learn is writing itself. Even the young Siddhartha (Shakyamuni Buddha before enlightenment) learned to write from the spiritual friend of all scribes and from the insect Gocha. Knowing how to write opens the door to engaging in all major and minor activities of both worldly and spiritual affairs. For all forgetfulness and memory loss, it is the unfailing dharani (Tibetan: མི་བརྗེད་པའི་གཟུངས་, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Roman transliteration:, Chinese literal meaning: unfailing dharani). One does not need to confide in servants and messengers. By knowing the wisdom of the great sage Vyasa, the one from Grokhar, and other ancestors of the world, one gains the courage to enter the treatises of worldly affairs. By knowing poetry, metrics, history, and astrology on one's own, one becomes a conscious being with a human body. Knowing or not knowing how to write is the difference between humans and animals. In particular, the first door of auspicious connection for entering the path of Dharma is also writing. One understands the truth of past and future lives and the law of karma. One knows the mistakes in one's own actions and the places where one errs in what to adopt and abandon. By relying on the words of the Buddha and the biographies of saints, one generates weariness and renunciation. One knows the truth that samsara has no essence. For the time being, all people who know how to read and write also depend on others for mere food and clothing. Therefore, one should first cherish proficiency in reading, and writing before being proficient in reading leads to confusion even in connecting letters, and one even hears the sounds of animals in the letters. Even after becoming proficient in reading, if one does not study the Thirty Verses and the Rules of Grammar, and the usage of old and new terms, and does not become familiar with correct expression, then the meaning of words in the scriptures and treatises will be distorted. For example, even a single "ཀ་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, Chinese literal meaning: Ka)" has the "ཀ་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, Chinese literal meaning: Ka)" of the Buddha's words, the "ཀ་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, Chinese literal meaning: Ka)" of a pillar, and the "ཀ་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Roman transliteration, Chinese literal meaning: Ka)" of a field.
