The object of dedication. What is the object or basis of dedication? For what purpose is it done? There are four points, including the necessity and benefits of dedication. The first point is the object: it does not belong to the realm of the Lesser Vehicle Hearers and Solitary Realizers who are not included in the aimless Bodhicitta and only seek their own peace and happiness. The Prajnaparamita Sutra says, "All roots of virtue, except for the one who knows all aspects, are not allowed to be dedicated to the realm of Hearers or Solitary Buddhas." Similarly, it is even more inappropriate to dedicate for the sake of the rule of Brahma, Ishvara, Indra, the Wheel-Turning King, and the worldly perfections such as local kings, retinues, enjoyments, fame, and profit. When the Victorious Buramshingpa was learning the Bodhisattva conduct, even when he generously gave away all cherished things such as the great kingdom, land, region, body, and enjoyments, he said, "With this giving, I will never, ever, be for the desire of the heavenly realm and kingship, not for competition, not for achieving fame, but only for the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi." One should follow his example of making great Bodhi the object of dedication. Moreover, here, dedication and aspiration, prayer, etc., although the essence is the same, there are also different categories such as repetition and the fourfold classification of affirmation and negation. The root of everything lies in cherishing that which is embraced by the precious Bodhicitta. As it is said, "All the qualities of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas depend on the power of Bodhicitta. The sons of the Buddhas who are embraced by the precious Bodhicitta, even if they travel throughout the three realms, have no fear. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel king, all desires arise." Thus it is said. Secondly, the objects of dedication are: offerings to superiors, generosity to inferiors, etc., in short, the four objects of gathering, and all the accumulations of the two accumulations through the doors of merit and wisdom, such as the ten perfections. Among them, pure intention, object, and thing, all three are possessed, and are considered to be perfect merits. Slightly distinguishing the differences of the fields, they can be summarized into two

There is no protector like the earth, and no field of merit like the Sangha. Therefore, one should offer to the Three Jewels. It is said, and among these, the Sangha, which is distinguished by actual enjoyment, is particularly emphasized, as stated in the Sutra of Extensive Bliss: Because it is the treasury of all dharmas, it is the door that distinguishes various forms. The Sangha is called activity, and all should give to the Sangha. Here, according to the Mahayana system, it is more important to cherish the inferior than the good object, as stated in the Sutra: Those who have no hope or friends for themselves, those who are inward and incapable, those who are old and decrepit and whose senses are weakened, the poor, hungry, and thirsty, those who possess the mind of enlightenment, should take those who are helpless into their care. Although it is said to take in those who have been abandoned by others and are separated from friends, those vehicles are only symbolic. From the perspective of attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body, the Great Secret Vajrayana is the most special, where the Vajra Master is said to be the supreme field. As stated in the Glorious Secret Essence: If one offers with the nature of son, wife, and wealth, and with the five powers of enjoyment, then one has offered to all mandalas. What need is there to mention the close mandala? The thought is: As stated in the Bodhisattva-bhumi: A Bodhisattva does not give for the sake of fame and verses, does not give for the sake of competing with others, does not give out of fear of becoming poor, does not give for the sake of Indra and the Wheel-Turning King, and relying on power, does not give, does not give looking at the fruit. All giving should be categorized as unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and fully enlightened Buddhahood alone. As it is said, it represents (739) all roots of virtue with the aspiration to attain unsurpassed enlightenment oneself and to establish other sentient beings in enlightenment as well, like the mind of a king arising, and the aspiration to liberate oneself and sentient beings together, like the mind of a shepherd arising, and without considering one's own benefit, only accomplishing the benefit of other sentient beings, like the mind of a boatman arising, and so forth, which are cherished. Similarly, things also directly or indirectly become the cause of harming others, such as killing and
