Body and possessions are seized by others. Actions done with lies and slander may succeed temporarily, but ultimately they will not. Like the lies of a goblin bird that turn itself into a place of ill omen. For a person who generates evil thoughts, even if they have merit as great as a mountain, it will immediately decline. Look at me, the king, look at the slave. Evil views diminish one's own glory, which others will not know. Like a small kingdom launching war against Ajatashatru. Even if people do not abide by the Dharma, they should still serve their parents. This is the only ladder to ascend to the heavens, as the Buddha said. Do not let beggars enter. If they enter, the permanent treasury will be depleted. Giving only benefits the next life; even if buried, it will not appear. If it is one's turn to beg, do not be impatient or generate evil thoughts. When serving the Buddha with courageous wisdom, because the poor person did not receive hope, they became angry with the teacher, thinking that if I were to become king, I would cut off the heads of these people (499 AD). Generating such thoughts is like one's own head being cut off by the wheel of a wooden cart. The mind is poisonous, so harmful thoughts will befall oneself. Taxes that must be paid, if one has the ability but does not pay, the king's treasury will decline, so one should fear the consequences. Enjoyments that people cannot obtain through effort arise from thinking of the heavenly realms. That is the power of merit; look at those of bad lineage who become kings. Therefore, from virtuous thoughts, accumulate all merit. Rather than laboring for a hundred years, it is better to accumulate merit for one day. The explanation of advice to the people, which is of the nature of the second chapter, was written by Gyalwa's descendant Khyentse's deity in the auspicious Lotus Light Island. Collection of Stories, Chapter Six. ༄༅ (oṃ, 梵文:oṃ, om; Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, om; Literal meaning: om). In the Sakya (place name) Derge (place name) region, it is called the ear ornament used in the conversation of bees. Homage to the venerable Jamyang (Manjushri). Whoever generates compassion for all beings as if they were relatives, but for those with faith and karmic connection, they act as messengers of discord like close relatives. 1. Even so, in that country, for the slender body that persuades slander, there is no contempt or disrespect, the new ear ornament of the bee letter smiles. 2. The discriminating awareness without aging or decline is like the lord of men.

To accomplish the desired aims, like the sun's seven horses of daytime glory, although busy with no leisure. 3. Youth composed of the four elements, accumulated by days and months, is manifestly oppressed by the weight of aging, disturbed by unbalanced thoughts. 4. What is hidden from all, although it is one's own nature, new lands and their waters have previously shown various harms. 5. If one is cut off by circumstances, and thoughts do not maintain their own characteristics, when harm is manifestly received, how will benefit be accomplished for you? 6. Therefore, you who walk on the earth, listen to my words as a friend, without the harm of deception, wear this as an earring. 7. Like this, from the inauspicious cycle of existence, from the belly like a crocodile, even from the happy realms, most of the seven qualities of the heavens. 8. Having already befriended you, now the means of prolonging life, not giving a death sentence to life, is the life-protection of the virtuous. 9. In samsara, not sparing life, there is none other than the hell-beings, for the ultimate nature of death, all tremble in fear. 10. Especially birds, wild animals, and livestock, the unprotected who fall wrongly, are always tormented by the fire of suffering, like a blacksmith burning fuel again. 11. By turning away from taking the lives of others, the kingdom has not declined. Those skilled in the methods of weaponry have created many wounds on the battlefield. 12. If one flees from the harmful, and cuts off the harmless, to whom do those who hope for happiness from you think they should turn for refuge? 13. Of all the seven qualities of the heavens, the most important is longevity itself, the cause that is in accordance with it is, striving to accomplish it is wisdom. 14. Diminished intelligence, and not knowing the scriptures of Dharma, that is like a demon eating people, striving to burn both oneself and others. 15. Therefore, you noble and virtuous one, generous and compassionate, always free from afflictions, be a brother to the essence of form. 16. Those who offer to their father and mother in this way, knowing it, even Brahmins do. They also protect the side that is not merit, and it is the way of the wise to receive my service. 17. Being arrogant with great lineage, beauty, and power, and manifest arrogance
