It is said that it must be free from the faults just mentioned above, with pure intention, and free from the defilements of hypocrisy and external fame. Secondly, the Sutra says: "Objects stolen and robbed, not harming others, extremely precious and pleasing objects, when needed, offer and give." It also says: "Evil and poison, etc., are the objects of wrong livelihood, not mixed with weapons, etc., with four kinds of giving, and various favorable conditions of desirable qualities, support the poor and incapable." As it is said, in short, forcibly taking and stealing from the hands of others, killing sentient beings or drawing blood for the sake of virtue, etc., as a means of livelihood, these kinds of wrong livelihood objects, it is said that they cannot be dedicated. Secondly, there are three kinds of objects to be dedicated: the way it is explained in the Sutra, the way it is explained in the Mantra, and the way it is explained in common. First, in the Ornament of Sutras, it is said: "Because all dharmas are treasures, various doors are revealed in various ways, the activity is called Sangha, therefore all should give to the Sangha." As it is said, the Sangha itself, which possesses the three trainings, is said to be the main field of merit. Secondly, in the Glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra, it is said: "At the beginning of all offerings, all offerings are abandoned, one should make the offering to the Guru extremely, by his pleasure, accomplishment is obtained, one obtains the all-knowing noble one." Thus, for the Mantrayana practitioner, there is no better field of merit than the Guru, and it is said that there are extremely many similar to this. Thirdly, as it is said: "There is no teacher like the Buddha, there is no protector like the Dharma, there is no field of merit like the Sangha, therefore one should offer to the Three Jewels." In common, there is no better field of merit than the Three Jewels. Moreover, in general, those of the lower vehicle and ordinary beings, etc., for the pure field of merit, diligently honor and serve with abundant wealth, and those who do not have wealth, diligently use the method of pleasing the Buddhas with the imagined Samantabhadra cloud offerings. It is said that this is like planting good seeds in a good field, and the fruit increases, it is said that it can increase more merit. But Mahayana practitioners with the place

One should cherish those below and focus solely on benefiting others. As the scriptures say: 'For those who are without support or friends, those who are without inner strength and incapable, those who are old and frail with weakened faculties, the poor, the hungry, and the afflicted, those with bodhicitta should take in these helpless ones.' As it is said, one should strive to properly study the conduct of a bodhisattva with the good intention of cherishing others. The third part has two points: the Khenpo for dedication and the time for dedication. The first point is: Guru Rinpoche said: 'The view understands the meaning of reality, meditation is capable of samadhi, endowed with compassion and bodhicitta, the noble spiritual friends who have all the (350) qualities completely, are the supreme teachers for dedicating merit.' As it is said, it is best if the noble being who has complete qualities and sees with wisdom, and who accomplishes truthful words, is present. If not, then it says in this very text: 'Whoever makes aspirations with faith, that lama is the actual teacher.' As it is said, if the patron can also properly treat the virtuous friend who possesses the three trainings and practices pure conduct with faith and aspiration, then through the power of the great truth that cause and effect are not deceiving, it will be accomplished as it is. If that is also difficult, then it says in this very text: 'It is also permissible in a place where one has gained faith, or in the presence of the Three Jewels.' As it is said, one can also make dedications in front of the excellent Three Jewels with great faith. The second point is: Continuing from the previous text, it says: 'Times such as the eighth and fifteenth days, dedicate the roots of virtue before the Three Jewels.' From this, it is known that all ordinary special holidays, the so-called 'eighth day', refers to wearing the complete part of the crest jewel of auspicious origin, and it is explained as the fifteenth day, which is the auspicious day of Amitabha Buddha. Similarly, the so-called 'fifteenth day' refers to the time when the sun, moon, and stars gather together, and there is no light at night, which is explained as 'fifteenth day', which is the festival of Shakyamuni Buddha. 'Eighth day' is the festival of the Medicine Buddha. It is said that on these special days, all virtuous deeds should be valued and dedicated, which is in consideration of the power of increasing change.
