Having established the measurable self-emptiness as an illusion, whatever arises, it is considered to be like the sky, without direction, equally vast, and all-encompassing. This is the assertion. There are four divisions: the Black Expanse that speaks of no cause, the Variegated Expanse that speaks of variety, the White Expanse that speaks of mind, and the Vast Expanse that refers to cause and effect. The first is: the self-born wisdom, unchanging, self-perfected, without direction, transcending cause and condition, does not depend on phenomena and suchness. It is divided into three: the Activity Black Expanse section, the Compassion Black Expanse section, and the Emanation Black Expanse section. The first, the Activity Black Expanse section, is: from the realm of self-born luminosity, the various appearances arise without cause, appearing as undifferentiated appearances. Because the place of arising is self-empty, cause and condition do not establish self-entity. Because it is liberated from the place of appearance, samsara and nirvana are nameless and all-pervading. This is also to establish the view of the Great Perfection, which is free from extremes, with the logic of "is and is not" leaning. The second, the Compassion Black Expanse, is: because appearance is wisdom, knowledge does not depend on others. Liberation is mind itself, so it refers to cause and condition. Because appearance and liberation abide in non-duality, the result is perfected as primordial liberation. This is also to assert that the Great Perfection is liberated from the place of appearance, with the logic of the self-purification of harmonious appearance. The third, the Emanation Black Expanse section, is: all phenomena, including self-awareness and enjoyment, are merely appearances, and are free from the bias of "is and is not," so neither self nor other are established. Because there is no dependence on self-nature, it is causeless from the beginning; because there is no dependence on fabrication, it is primordially liberated, sealed with leaning. The great wisdom of self-purity, non-abiding, is called primordial liberation, exhaustion of the basis of dependence. This is also to assert that the imputation is great self-liberation, with the logic of referring to delusional mind. The nature of the second, the Variegated Expanse, is: from self-born wisdom, the various "is" self-arise, saying it is the play of suchness. For the "is not," it appears as directionless and all-pervading, so it is believed that the suchness of play has no affirmation or negation. It is divided into three: the Variegated section that agrees with the mind section of the proponents of existence, the Variegated section that agrees with the self-abiding of the proponents of non-existence, and the Variegated section that agrees with the instructions of existence and non-existence. The first is: the nature of self-born wisdom

Self-purified, not distinguishing anywhere in the state of liberation. Its nature is not established by both affirmation and negation, transcending verbal expression and fabrication. Its essence is non-dual, thus merging into the wheel of self-liberated mind. Moreover, through the logic of the nature of non-mentation, all phenomena of appearance, signs, samsara, and nirvana abide in their own ground as primordially liberated. Secondly, because the essence of perceived appearances is liberated from its own ground, the nature of existent phenomena manifests in various ways. Because the appearance of non-existence is liberated from its own ground, it transcends karma and its maturation. This is also established through the logic of the emptiness of movement and disappearance, that the appearance of non-existence is self-purified. Thirdly, because the essence abides in primordial emptiness, it does not rely on the cause and effect of karma. Arising as conditioned phenomena from circumstances, because the place of arising is exhausted, it is liberated beyond the confines of samsara and nirvana. Because the appearance of signs manifests as primordially pure, it arises without moving from the ground of self-origination, as the logic of the non-establishment of samsara and nirvana. Therefore, it is inexpressible, beyond mind, and possesses the key point of having no habitual patterns. Because abiding and movement are liberated as non-dual, it possesses the key point of the mind having no change. Because fabricated phenomena arise suddenly, it possesses the three key points of the nature of mental discernment, view, and meditation being without basis and primordially liberated, thus merging samsara and nirvana without effort or accomplishment. Thirdly, the essence of the white expanse spoken of as mind is that, within the state of self-originated wisdom, all outer appearances manifest as the play of inner awareness, all of which is arranged by the mind. Because the circumstances of appearance are self-liberated, there is no agent, purified from the cause, and nothing to be accomplished in reality. Divided, there are two: the inexpressible, self-arisen, great white expanse, whose essence is the direct liberation of the seer, the seen is self-purified, and the object and mind merge into one. Internally divided, there are two: the expanse like the ocean and the expanse like the sky. Among them, the essence of the expanse like the ocean is self-liberated from the extreme of permanence, and is seen as the key point of non-action, thus knowing various memories and thoughts as non-dual and beyond mind. Divided, there are two: large and small. The large expanse like the ocean is that the mind's self-appearance of emptiness is primordially liberated, therefore, what is relied upon by the emptiness of mind is pure. Because the nature of seeing appearances as self-purified is primordially inexpressible, it is empty of the three: arising, ceasing, and abiding. Because of emptiness, it is not established anywhere, thus it is established. The small expanse like the ocean is that because reliance is pure or the basis of the essence is non-existent, the mind has no defilement, and is all-pervasive
