Because he enjoyed engaging in unconventional actions, even though he tried every means to find all the uneven, long and short pieces of wood, etc., as substitutes for ritual implements. Like this, the strong will of a Bodhisattva accustomed to giving is not something that can be swayed by thoughts of stinginess and jealousy, so he regarded wealth and possessions as dreams and illusions. One huge pillar was leaning precariously, but he did not support it; instead, he wrapped his feet around it, displaying the sign of accomplishment of straightening the pillar. A vajra symbol was also affixed to it. Similarly, for those pillars that had become crooked, he wrapped his feet around them, making them straight as arrows. Because they saw immeasurable compassion and power, such as the ability to endure evil, the craftsmen once again felt great remorse. For the remaining pieces of wood that even the gods had rejected, instead of building walls, he erected a special portico supported by four pillars, which was known as "Repenting Sins and Accumulating Merit," and later transformed it into a protector deity hall. In this way, the fourth story was built in the temple, with a peaceful deity mandala headed by Vairocana. In the upper corridor, at the site of the eight pillars, were the guardian deities Hayagriva and Yamantaka. In the two side chambers, north and south, were enshrined the Great Mother and Dipamkara Buddha surrounded by four offering goddesses. In the protector deity hall were embossed images of Lekden, Palden Lhamo, Brahma, and Indra. In the upper corridor, at the site of the eight pillars, were murals of the lineage of lamas. In the surrounding hall were twenty-three mandalas, including the Lotus Hundred Deities mandala. In the lower corridor, at the site of the twenty pillars, were murals of the Thousand Buddhas, the Buddhas of the Ten Directions, Amitayus surrounded by his close disciples, the Seven Past Buddhas, the Twelve Deeds, the Bodhisattva Dharmaraja, Tara Saving from the Eight Fears, the Three Lords of the Family, a depiction of the Malaya region, the Wheel of Existence, and so on. Thus, after the civil engineering was completed, (he said,) "Now I will have my temple, including the thangkas, gilded with gold. The source of the gold will be taken from the savings," he said, and then began to contemplate. At midnight, the local deity Tsen appeared as a black horse. After prostrating and circumambulating Zurchungpa, (he said,) "If the temple's thangkas are all gilded with gold, our gold will be exhausted, so please allow us to offer some statues of deities as a substitute." He (Zurchungpa) agreed to do so. At the time of the consecration, the elder and younger Zur masters proceeded from the crown of Kunrig Nampar Nangdze's head down to his heart.
