Homage to the Guru! ༈ From the work called "A Rain of Joy, a Treasury of Precious Qualities," this is the section on the Four Immeasurables, the seventh chapter. །། This is the section on fully embracing the mind of enlightenment, the eighth chapter. For the sake of whatever is gained, offering is supreme. 241 The mind of enlightenment that obtains the four immeasurables, when guided by the skillful means of aspiration and action like a chariot, destroys the evil view of quiescence. ༈ Even those bound in the prison of sinful suffering samsara, 242 once they generate the mind of enlightenment, obtain the excellent crown of the name of a prince, and rejoice greatly, even being revered by gods and humans in the world. ༈ From the dark clouds of karma and affliction, 243 the virtue of a fierce lightning flash, only occasionally accustomed to merit, like a tree by the water, its roots are harmed by its fruits. ༈ On the field of land supported by good earth, 244 like a harvest of virtue that is perfectly abundant, when the tree of the mind of enlightenment exists, it bears many fruits and grows until peace. ༈ Karma, affliction, actions, and suffering are the containers of all. 245 The ocean of samsara is full of waves of conceptual thought, it tightly grasps sentient beings like a home, while the mind of enlightenment is the great courage to overcome obstacles. ༈ Whoever does not have a bodhisattva who thinks of their own benefit, 246 like the hungry longing for food and the thirsty for water, but seeks omniscience solely for the benefit of sentient beings, is known as the mind of enlightenment. ༈ That is, the aspiring mind that vows on the result, 247 and the three practices of equality and exchange of self and others, and cherishing others more than oneself, are the concise summary of practice, while its essence truly abides in the four immeasurables such as loving-kindness. 248 ༈ The engaging mind that vows on the cause, its practice is the six perfections, one should rely on those whose field of action is completely pure. ༈ From the perspective of division, there are two types of mind of enlightenment: arising and ultimate. 249 ༈ From the perspective of the three trainings, there are three types of mind of enlightenment. ༈ In particular, on the paths of accumulation and preparation, one practices with faith. From the first bhumi to the seventh, there is higher intention. On the three pure bhumis, there is maturation. 250 On the buddha bhumi, there is abandonment of obscurations, there are four types. Similarly, the mind of enlightenment that follows the five paths has five types. ༈ Depending on the six perfections, there are that many numbers. ༈ The distinctions of the bhumis are twenty-two, etc. 251 The aspiring mind pervades with intention, and the engaging mind pervades with

That. If one diligently seeks goodness for oneself, constantly within the gate of non-cessation, not giving rise to disturbance in the minds of beggars, 252. that is called uninterrupted offering. ༈ If all sentient beings are worthy of praise, even the arising of a single instant of altruistic intention, it cuts off the doors to the lower realms and leads to the realms of gods and humans, 253. the merit of enjoying happiness is inexhaustible. ༈ The qualities of especially entering are limitless, in the ritual that pervades actual practice, from when the mind does not turn back, 254. the vow to liberate beings is extremely firm, from that time on, even if one sleeps carelessly, the accumulation of merit will be constantly connected, explained from the ground of practice with reason. 255. The accumulation of many eons can also be reconciled. ༈ Like livestock, elephants, chariots, sun, moon, etc., the asceticism of traveling is like a swift wind, limitless. With the skillful means of great intelligence and diligent wisdom, 256. one can destroy countless samayas. ༈ Just as a seed falls on the ground, generating the supreme mind is not important, generating the mind is important. From the three powers, the mind of enlightenment arises, 257. great compassion, accumulating merit, and taking refuge. Thinking and acting are said to be the power of the cause. ༈ The individual who is the basis is shown to be of two kinds, whether one holds the vows of any of the seven categories of individual liberation, 258. contemplating the Three Jewels (Triratna, Sanskrit, triratna, Three Jewels) and Tara (Tārā, Sanskrit, tārā, Tara) is the main basis, following the vast path of the Middle Way. Accumulating merit is a special means of arising. ༈ The cause is that everything has the essence of the Tathagatagarbha, 259. the condition is relying greatly on a virtuous friend. ༈ The supreme lama is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, whose mind is filled with the mind of enlightenment. ༈ All the virtuous dharmas in the beginning, middle, and end, 260. and the arrangement of ornaments and trees that are said to be excellent, the qualities of the mind of enlightenment are said to be immeasurable. ༈ Even the house that displays the beauty of a peacock, washing the face with saffron perfume and attendants, 261. thinking only of the Three Jewels (Triratna, Sanskrit, triratna, Three Jewels) in the mind, rejoicing and laughing at accumulating offerings. Inviting all the images of vows there. ༈ The ritual of inviting and summoning the wisdom heroes, 262. is faster than remembering friends the speed of the vow. Surpassing the Buddhas viewing other realms. ༈ The meaning of whatever is without remainder
