And the great mandala itself. It says in the Doha Treasury: "Being separated from the very nature of bliss, possessing only the asceticism of the body, called ordained novice, monk, abbot." The thoughts of these people are that after ordaining in this way, some explain the sutras, but they are seen holding the nature of a single mind. Others take the Great Vehicle as the cause, that is the treatise that measures the scriptures. Thus, by tormenting body and mind with asceticism, clinging to the liberation of cause and effect, one is not liberated. Likewise, if one does not understand the nature of the opening and closing of samsara and nirvana, then the lower conceptualizations of the generation and completion stages will not liberate. Similarly, it says in the same text: "Furthermore, some meditate on all the mandalas, some engage in explaining the meaning of the four truths, some contemplate the realm of space, others contemplate emptiness, most engage in discordant ways." Like this, one's heart will break. Why? Because the three vows, the six perfections, the generation and completion stages, etc., are only taught as causes for realizing co-emergent wisdom, and those are not the actual state of the fruition. But here, one realizes what the nature of the fruit is through the guru's instructions, and by taking the fruit itself as the path, one eliminates the adventitious stains. So what is the cause? Because thoughts are equal to the mandala of the four samadhis, in the unfabricated nature, the nature of deity and mantra is naturally present, so it transcends the appearance of forms with faces and hands, and the path of sounds and words. As it is said in the Two Examinations Tantra: "In the nature without elaboration, deities and mantras truly abide." Therefore, the tenets of the Mind Series are called the Great Perfection, which speaks of the ground, bondage, and transformation. Although it appears in various ways, it is determined as the power, play, and bodhicitta of one's own mind, so there is no obstruction, and one does not cling to the power and appearance of the three as merely established in meaning, so it transcends the wrong view of considering appearance as mind. Because one knows that thoughts are without self-nature, one is liberated from the aspect of elaborating with conceptual mind on the notions of "this is appearance, this is mind," and both self-characterized or non-self-characterized.

Therefore, it is called the Mind Section, as it says in the Kunjed Gyalpo: In the Dharma-nature of unborn, perfectly pure, Appear images that seem to arise as entities. Since whatever arises is naturally non-dual, Leave it as it is, detached at the peak, in great bliss. Thus it is said. Saraha says: Seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching, Eating, smelling, wandering, stretching, and sitting, Idle talk, chatting, and answering, If you know them as mind, you will not move from the nature of one. Whoever does not drink the guru's instruction, the nectar water that dispels suffering, Will perish, tormented by thirst in the desert of many doctrinal meanings. Thus it is said. To say that difference is on the side of mind, to believe that the result arises from mind, to obscure errors, to conceal the source of reasoning, self-arisen wisdom without partiality, the customs of sectarian proponents, and the customs of transcending conceptual attachment, thus it is believed that there are seven categories. The first is: Although it appears as external objects, since the mind that appears has no inherent nature, all appearances cannot transcend self-arisen wisdom. From the sound of self-existing spontaneity, although the two doors of pure and impure, samsara and nirvana, arise, since the one who appears has no inherent nature, the place of appearance is self-liberated, this is its characteristic. The Kunjed Gyalpo says: All appearances, sentient and insentient worlds, Buddhas and sentient beings, are made by mind and are one in the nature of mind. Thus it is said. Some people think that the reality of the Mind-Only school and this are the same, but this is a delusion. Thus, the mind of enlightenment, self-power, and play, although three names are spoken from the perspective of appearance, if viewed from the perspective of essence, they transcend the phenomena of one and different, and from the perspective of emptiness, nothing is established. From the perspective of appearance, although established like sleep and dreams by concepts, it is complete in great clear light without existence, this is its characteristic. The second is: The original sphere of the result does not change anywhere, so the mind has no change. Although it appears like samsara from the spontaneous appearance of the basis of liberation, it does not move from its nature. Because it does not change, it is empty of impure characteristics. Even if measured from the aspect of appearance, it first arises from the sphere, now abides in the sphere, and finally is liberated into the sphere, like clouds dissolving into the sky.
