From what is collected, it is said that meditation abandons the praise of desirable qualities, and accomplishes intelligence, clairvoyance, and samadhi. Through wisdom, having fully understood the nature of phenomena, one will truly transcend all three realms. In short, the wisdom realized by the noble ones and the meditative concentration practiced by ordinary individuals, when measured by the discriminating consciousness, may seem to have only a slight difference. However, in the face of wisdom, there is a difference like that between heaven and earth. Therefore, in the state of meditation, the fundamental reality is taken as the path of the mind, and in the state of wisdom, the elaboration on awareness naturally dissolves. It is necessary to distinguish between these two: in this way, appearance does not stain knowledge, and does not fall upon appearance; in between, there is no grasping onto the unborn, so the connection between appearance and knowledge is severed, and the grasper and the grasped vanish without a trace. Although the nature is clear and transparent, there is no single-pointed support; although it transcends the eight consciousnesses, awareness does not cease to be self-luminous. In the state of realizing the unobstructed, ungrasping intention, awareness remains naked and transparent, without the need for rejection or acceptance, or expansion or contraction. Whether arising, abiding, or neither, the memory of the three is like the continuous flow of a river. In an instant, there is no opportunity to accumulate the habitual patterns that connect cause and effect, so arising and liberation are simultaneous, like drawing a picture on water, without losing the original state. The cause of wandering in the three realms and six destinies is exhausted, and in the realm beyond mind, the stronghold of the nature of reality is seized. As it is said in the Prasangika: "The meditation that abides without contrivance is when the doors of the senses are clear, not swayed by the thoughts of the mind, the mind that examines knowledge itself, and the two that do not stray outward." And: "The nature of emptiness and clarity is awareness, unmixed with any nature, the extremes of grasping and being grasped are exhausted, and the nature of reality is self-purified." Although this is so, one must understand the manner of severing from its sphere. If conceptual thought is connected with an object, it is ordinary. In the knowledge that is clear like a mirror, the objects of appearance do not cease, shining like stars, but if it is not stained by conceptual thought, the connection between the object of grasping and the grasping mind is severed. Each has its own self-awareness, non-conceptual wisdom, and now has reached the ground of supreme wisdom. Therefore, focusing the mind inward is the main practice of the nine successive states of absorption.

If those minds are not grasped by special methods, even if one temporarily obtains qualities such as clairvoyance and direct perception, one will not transcend the nature of samsara. Either one wanders in the realm of the six aggregates, chasing after the ordinary objects of the five senses, or one clings to the views of sound concepts and the objects of attachment. Because the state of mind is not fully pacified, even if one interprets profound instructions such as the Prajnaparamita or Madhyamaka, one is very far from the meaning of profound peace, freedom from elaboration, and the unconditioned. As it says in the Prajnaparamita Sutra: 'Bhagavan, if an Arhat thinks, "I have attained Arhatship," then he will cling to self, cling to sentient beings, cling to life, and cling to person.' This is because it contradicts the noble truths. Therefore,
