Stillness is concentration. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Focus the mind on the object, and do not let its continuity be distracted." And as it says in the Sutra of Noble Concentration: "If the mind is placed on the nature of things as they are, experience will change without being named. Therefore, it is called concentration." Thus, having attained reliance on the object of stillness, the nature of reality is profound, peaceful, free from all elaboration, naturally luminous, and the individual discriminating insight that realizes emptiness like the nectar of one's own wisdom is what is to be cultivated, as it says in the Questions of Maitreya: "Having accomplished stillness, one should cultivate insight." So it is. Its characteristics are also described in the Heap of Jewels Sutra: "O Light-Protected One, what is the wisdom of individual discrimination of all phenomena? It is the diligence that completely scatters the mind." Thus, looking at the nature of the mind as unborn, all appearances that arise as power or in a state of delusion, although they have never existed in the appearance of duality, but appear only as terms, because they are not liberated in their own nature, they scatter on the object. The deluded appearances that are accustomed to grasping at objects only increase in power, but with the incompleteness of not being established by nature, they are known by one dharma of sharp wisdom of individual discrimination, as it says in the Sutra of the Treasury of Space: "By one dharma, all dharmas are known to be like illusions and mirages, without anything to grasp or accumulate, false and not true, if one realizes this, one will soon go to the heart of enlightenment." So it is. Thus, the qualities of the stage of familiarization with stillness are also described in the Noble Cloud of Jewels Sutra: "Stillness subdues the afflictions, and insight completely consumes the afflictions." So it is. Thus, after familiarizing oneself with the wisdom of insight, the wisdom of individual discrimination, the scattered realm appears as the nature of reality, like not finding stones when it is the time of Gold Island, no matter what thoughts of mind and mental factors arise, there is no need for either abandoning or adopting, in the samadhi of the self-abiding awareness, the appearance and mind are inseparable, the vast expanse of the ground of liberation arises, therefore it is the way of being free from the session of meditation, as it says in the Heap of Jewels: "The nature of samadhi is uninterrupted, without sinking or excitement, it is very wonderful." and

From Rangshar: The unobstructed Dharmata, self-illuminating, is the realm of bliss. The non-conceptual, all-pervading Dharmata delights in all things. The Dharmata without grasping is naturally pure in its own place. The strength of liberation and bliss is free from conceptualization. The self-appearance without distraction pervades all. The true Dharmata descends upon the ground of great bliss. Thus, during the time of meditation, as the supreme method, whatever thoughts arise, do not suppress them, nor is there anything to do. Do not follow them, and if you do not move from your natural state, you will obtain all the qualities of purified senses, such as the divine eye, vision, and clairvoyance. From the time that the wisdom of insight arises, whatever thoughts arise, do not suppress them. Do not fabricate with effort, and do not follow them. If you suppress thoughts in this way, you will fall into one extreme of calm abiding. If you fabricate with effort, you will lose the nature of insight. If you follow them, the root of thoughts will not be severed, and there will be no difference from ordinary people. Similarly, if you deliberately suppress the senses and sensory consciousnesses, you will not obtain the five eyes, such as the divine eye, and the six clairvoyances of the mind, and all the qualities of purified senses. Among these, the six clairvoyances are from the Vajrasattva Mayajala: knowing all times, knowing all things in the continuum of mind, seeing all things everywhere with the eye of clairvoyance, hearing all things everywhere with the ear of clairvoyance, benefiting all beings everywhere with the conduct of clairvoyance, and the great clairvoyance of perfecting the conduct of Samantabhadra, which is free from defilements. Thus, by knowing the four times, one remembers past lives. The conduct of clairvoyance is the ability to manifest and subdue whatever is appropriate. Freedom from defilements is the pure and undefiled vision of wisdom, and the other three are easy to understand. Therefore, although objects appear to the senses, the sensory consciousness does not conceptualize the objects. This is called "yoga beyond elaboration," as the great Brahmin said: As long as the senses fall into the city of objects, at that time, one's own self is free from affairs and victorious over all. Therefore, relying on the meaning, the six consciousnesses flow naturally, without moving from their nature. Not pursuing appearances, like the image of stars reflected on a sea undisturbed by waves, one rests in the absence of inherent existence, and thus obtains all the qualities of the grounds, paths, and fruits. This is a general explanation.
