In summary, although this is the case, if the sudden occurrence of self-grasping does not dissolve into the pure expanse of the Dharmadhatu, the realizations that are deluded by sudden occurrences are obscured for those with initial karma by the ordinary self-natured possessor. Among the two methods of guiding, which are the same in essence of Shamatha and Vipassana and those that are distinct, for the initial aspect, the meditation of abiding and the wisdom of clarity, the union of Shamatha and Vipassana, is established in the meaning of non-duality, free from extremes. Thus it is taught. Regarding this, any sudden occurrence of the mind of the eight consciousnesses accompanied by self-grasping, which is equivalent to the Dharmadhatu, if it cannot be reversed into the Dharmata of awareness, then the common and consistent method of cultivating mind-abiding for these is, in the way that is not prohibited from here, as it says in the reductio ad absurdum: "Meditation is mind-abiding, cutting off the inner and outer flow, the cessation of grasping and the grasped." And, "The channels, winds, bindus, bodily postures, objects of focus, and emptiness, meditation is what is desired." Thus, mind-abiding whose essence relies on an object of focus, the necessity is to hope for the result from its stability, the activity is to cultivate in connection with Shamatha and Vipassana, desiring to stop the grasper and the grasped. As it is said in the Six Spaces, "In the nature of mind, which is beyond expression, Shamatha and Vipassana arise spontaneously, in equipoise and post-equipoise, it is perfected as unwavering meditation." Therefore, if awareness is not directly recognized on the basis of the view, and if one does not know how to integrate that awareness into the equality of the three times, merely obtaining a slight recognition of Dzogchen, and occasionally considering the Dharma of leisure and opportunity as a transformation that transcends acceptance and rejection, this is not beneficial for death and Bardo, and because the root of continuously wandering in Samsara is not severed, the way to learn the reality of meditation, as it says in the reductio ad absurdum: "The fault of not meditating is that the characteristics of Samsara become manifest, self and other, object-consciousness, and the view accompanied by words, and the objects accompanied by focus, and afflictions bind the self, also the path of the Buddha is lost, and the nature of the result is not understood, all Dharmas have no basis of equality, the self-knowing three realms are bound, and one falls with conceptual thought." Thus. Regarding this, in general, the cultivation of Shamatha and Vipassana separately

The way of practicing has been well explained in the Sutra path, but here, in order to approach the intention of the noble Ada Yeshe, the two are combined, and the meaning of viewing the two as one entity is explained. Like this, the Dharma that grasps samsara and nirvana as real, its nature is inherently pure, and in that suchness-samadhi, with the mind focused on one point without wavering, is quiescence (shamatha). Its characteristic is that the clarity of the discriminating wisdom that perceives the absence of substantiality is insight (vipassana). As the noble Ada Yeshe said: All dharmas are inherently pure in nature, therefore one should cultivate the thought of non-substantiality. Thus. If one becomes accustomed to the meditation of the unity of quiescence and insight, then all dharmas will gather into the two aspects of bodhicitta, and all subsequent attainments will appear as the nature of great compassion. From that state, all dharmas gather into bodhicitta, therefore one should cultivate the thought of great compassion. Thus. When one is accustomed to the emptiness of the unity of quiescence and insight in meditative equipoise, and the union of great compassion in post-meditation, the two accumulations are simultaneously perfected, and the way of touching the noble truth of the nature of luminosity. All dharmas are inherently unobservable and luminous, therefore one should cultivate the thought of not clinging to anything. Thus. Moreover, substantiality is that which leaks, it is the obscuration of knowledge, and if it is destroyed by the individual self-awareness wisdom, then the arising of the Buddha-nature of realizing one's own mind will occur. If the mind is realized, it is wisdom, therefore one should cultivate the thought of not seeking the Buddha elsewhere. Thus. These four verses summarize all the sutras of practice. The thought here is that one should not regard the aggregates contained in one's own continuum as the self, because this contradicts "one should also truly observe the nature of the five aggregates as emptiness." Therefore, the thought in the state of observing emptiness is the wisdom of individual observation, however, its function is all-pervasive of dharmata, therefore at the time of the wisdom of hearing and thinking, it is the speculation of discriminative consciousness, which will be explained below. At the time of the wisdom of meditation, it is not discriminative consciousness, but habitual tendencies.
