Thus, the yogi continuously cultivates, increasing luminosity during the day. At night, in one's own dwelling, to measure the equality of the four times, withdrawing the doors of the senses, on the lamp of the empty bindu, the yogi abides the mind, and as the bindu increases, so too should awareness be increased. Likewise, when the bindu becomes smaller, for the increasingly smaller bindu, awareness should also be made increasingly smaller. With the key of sleep and dreams, uproot the habitual tendencies of previous attachments from their source. Like this, during all the times of the night, the fortunate yogi should practice. This will cause luminosity to naturally increase. So it is said. Furthermore, in all circumstances, among the four ways of abiding, the first immovable one is the ocean-like abiding. Just as in an ocean undisturbed by wind, stars appear scattered, yet the water is not marked by the stars, and the stars do not move from their own positions, so too is awareness completely open, without an object. Even if the functions of the senses do not cease, they do not become the conceptual thoughts of the mind. Each is clearly aware, yet there is no discriminating consciousness. Although the objects of appearance are scattered, they cannot be clearly judged, therefore, compared to before, the doors of the senses are clearer, yet there is no conceptual thought of the mind. So it is said. Furthermore, that nature, its essence does not abide in anything, yet emptiness is not grasped as separate. The self-nature is free from fabrication, yet it does not fall into dullness. The manifestation of power does not cease, yet attachment has vanished. From the wordless, the meaning of the ocean-like abiding is: It is not appearance, nor is it making appear; it is not emptiness, nor is it existing in emptiness; it is not clarity, but the object of great clarity; it is not sinking, but naturally without agitation; it does not move, it does not shift, it does not change; it does not act, it does not move, it transcends all actions. If one does not grasp at objects, like stars appearing in the depths of the ocean. Without grasping, clear and unceasing. Such is the posture of abiding. So it is said. The second is awareness-like abiding. Once awareness is recognized, there can be no ideological constraints, experiencing the taste of the dharma nature without attachment, thereby exhausting the causes of wandering in the three realms. In the *Mūlamadhyamakakārikā* it says: The supreme meaning is free from mind, when initially liberated simultaneously, one's own

From the ultimate school of thought, without clinging or grasping to anything, experiencing the taste of true Dharma-nature, when the three realms cease, there is no support. Just as space dissolves into space, so too is the supreme yogi. Therefore, awareness itself possesses self-arisen meditation, so there is no need to deliberately cultivate the artificiality of bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality. The goodness of primordial purity's awareness has no dust or clinging, so there is no need to later create and decorate it with conceptual thoughts. Leaving the self-liberated, vast expanse, the view without separation or inside and outside, in its own nature. If combined with Tögal, the light of awareness appears like sheep intestines, integrating superior vision and many tastes into one practice. From the absence of letters, awareness resting in the present moment is the oral instruction, this is the secret essence. And, the view of single decisive appearance is, seeking the method of awareness itself resting, this is the secret of secrets, liberating to the other shore with the power of appearance, not bound by attachment, it is self-arisen appearance. Third, appearance approaching and resting is, the clarity of awareness is like a mirror, it is the basis of all appearances, even if blocked, it cannot be blocked, because it is unobstructed skillful means. Even if practiced, it cannot be accomplished, because it will self-liberate into non-arising. Therefore, for what is known and phenomena, like measuring, do not deliberately collect, do not block with antidotes, do not withdraw into self-nature, but rest openly, in this way it is impossible to go beyond the realm of Dharma-nature. As it says in the pile of jewels, when phenomena appear as having characteristics, I have self-arisen qualities, do not accept or reject this. And, from the absence of letters, when Vajrasattva (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्रसत्त्व, Sanskrit Romanization: Vajrasattva, Chinese literal meaning: Vajra Sattva) awareness rests openly, it will show all the appearances of the Dharmakaya. Because the appearance of pure wisdom appears openly, the secret method of resting, in the state of resting openly, the appearance of the five aggregates body is not abandoned, it is not abandonment, but rests in its own meaning. The view of this method is, appearance and awareness are non-dual, the meaning of integrating into one and practicing. If you cannot understand in this way, just staring at any appearance, this is called awareness being deluded by external objects. Conceptual thought itself is the root of error. Even if you grasp self-nature, it is the fault and obscuration of antidotes, like a worm bound by its own saliva. Also, grasping abiding as real, thereby cultivating non-thought, the skillful means of appearance
